All dishes were well done - wine chicken very soft and smooth. Vegetarian duck - crispy bean curd, dumplings and buns were juicy, and the oyster rice soup was a surprise - it was 3 whole oysters instead of chopped up ones. The only disappointment was the red bean dessert - the crust was soggy and not enough red beans.

Best fried rice I have ever tasted! The place was packed within 30 minutes of us arriving at just after 5pm with lots of happy families enjoying their time together. The quality and variety of dishes were excellent as well. If I ever get the chance to come to Richmond again I would be excited to share this place with a friend.

This was the third time I'd been here. The first two times were fantastic (many years ago).

The service was so bad it seemed like we were intentionally being ignored. It took over 2 hours to receive the 6 dishes we ordered. We had two tables come and go beside us by the time we left. I had to get up multiple times to get any service or attention. We ended packing up the last two dishes when they arrived and leaving.

Just an absolutely terrible experience overall. I would never consider going back here.

Food is so bad! The standard is so low in this neighborhood.. this place would not last even for a day in China. It’s a joke!

Omg is this really the best Chinese food Canadians have? Coming from China and NYC, I can tell you that this’s the worst Chinese food I’ve ever had! The food is extremely unauthentic and low-end! Not recommend! Run away!!!

Not only do they provide one of the best shanghainese cuisine but also they offer service in shanghainese language. We are overjoyed that they were able to serve us in our native language. Well done! Thank you!

The restaurant was packed at lunchtime—we waited for an hour. The ambiance was great, and the ingredients were fresh, but the flavors were just average. Then again, Shanghainese cuisine has never really been my favorite.

Their version of wuxi style (black vinegar) spare ribs is excellent and probably the most famous dish here. Ribs are lightly breaded and fried and the sauce isn't too sweet, it kind of reminded me of Cantonese preserved plum ribs but more tart.

All the other Shanghaiese classics like beef pancake, lion's head and xlb are also solid. All dumplings and dimsum are made to order (even the fried items) and shouldn't be missed.

Many tables also order the lobster claypot vermicelli noodle and fried taro duck.

At night, Cantonese-style seafood dishes are popular.

The food is authentic Shanghai style.
Came back here with friends after a while but the food is not as good as it used to be.

Never disappointed if you want to try authentic shanghai cuisine in Richmond. This is the restaurant of choice before I fly back to HK.

Very delicious food. My girlfriend and I enjoyed every dish!

this place shouldnt be famous for their 小籠包(steamed dumplings) but for their 奶油龍蝦伊麵/ lobster cream based sause noodles cuz O MY GOSH ITS THE BEST ONE IVE HAD AT A RESTAURANT in a LOOONNG TIME. tell me why the lobster was so sweet (in a fresh seafood way) and the noodles were cooked to perfection, soaked in the sauce that has the lobster's juices in it, making it addictive to eat. even the onions were fried well and browned before being put into this dish, making this dish a solid 5/5

however their other stuff was mid- their fried taro duck tasted normal- just the classic five spice flavoured duck with not rly seasoned taro paste, accompanied with a sauce that tastes like diluted oyster sauce and dark soy. 3/5

their famous 小籠包 had the right amount of fat to meat ratio, right amount of soup, and the right texture. it just tastes normal but a bit above avrg 3.5/5

however their eggplant dish tasted like panda express with half the sugar... however it isnt drowning in oil at the least 1/5

overall 3.9/5
