“An alright dumpling place to try in the Terra Nova neighborhood. The taste is quite different from Cantonese dumpling so that's why we're not as used to it.
We tried the combo for wonton and dumpling, and also ordered the pork chop noodles. Water/tea is self served.
Service is pretty good overall as the owner lady is quite nice.
Parking can be a bit chaotic as this mall can get busy, especially with the Save on Foods nearby.“

“This Shanghai restaurant is really authentic. XLB were juicy, the duck very intense in flavors and the fish also yummy. Dandan mian were a bit too soft for our taste but amazing taste. Portions were huge so that we couldn’t finish everything but overall I would give this place a 4.5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
My most favorite fish were the Shanghai noodles 🤫“

“The pork buns were so so incredibly delicious, the Dan Dan noodles were ok tho. They were so nice and it took less than 5 minutes to get our food even tho it was busy in there. It’s a 30 minute drive for me to get there and it’s 100% worth it and lots of free parking too! Also it’s a great price for the food! Will be going back!😊😊😊“

“Here’s a polished restaurant review you can use:
⸻
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Color Seesee, and it was a wonderful reminder of authentic Shanghainese comfort food.
The highlight of the meal was definitely the steamed soup buns (小笼包). Each bun was delicate and perfectly pleated, and the moment you bite into one, a burst of rich, savory broth fills your mouth. The balance between the thin wrapper, tender meat filling, and flavorful soup was spot on—exactly what you hope for in a great Shanghainese xiaolongbao.
Another standout dish was the mini wonton soup. The small, silky wontons in clear broth instantly brought back memories of time spent in Shanghai. The flavors were light yet deeply comforting, and the texture of the wontons was just right—soft, smooth, and satisfying.
Overall, Color Seesee delivers an authentic taste of Shanghai with care and attention to detail. If you’re craving genuine Shanghainese flavors—especially excellent soup dumplings—this is definitely a place worth visiting.“

“Spent a few hours in the Crystal Mall on a Wednesday, and was so disappointed to see that Shanghai Dim Sum was closed for the day, my favorite XLB shop.Oh well, we ate some other delicious things, the standout was the shengjian bao, pan fried pork buns from Shanghai Fortune Cuisine. It was lined up and everyone in the rooms seemed to be eating them.Wow, they were good. Crispy on the bottom, tender on top, full of soup and pork. Delicious. Staff is friendly too!I think I found a new favorite.“

“Z W Shanghai Kitchen remains one of the few places in Metro Vancouver serving truly authentic Shanghai cuisine. The dishes still deliver -- generous portions, deep home-style flavours, and prices that feel fair in today's dining climate. Their xiao long bao and braised dishes continue to remind diners why the restaurant earned pre‑pandemic acclaim.
Unfortunately, time and circumstance haven't been kind. Since COVID, the buzz has faded, and newer diners -- especially Gen Z and Alpha crowds -- don't seem drawn to its classic atmosphere or understated presentation. In an era when restaurants live or die by social media trend cycles, Z W Shanghai Kitchen could benefit from fresh marketing: better visuals, outreach on local foodie channels, or even a small menu refresh to attract younger palates without losing tradition.
The location hasn't helped either. Like many West Vancouver businesses near Broadway, the ongoing transit construction has eaten away at visibility and foot traffic. It's a tough environment, but if any restaurant deserves to survive it, it's this one -- anchored by culinary integrity and authentic taste.
It matches the calibre of popular spots like Shanghai River and Top Shanghai Cuisine in Richmond.“

“Never had such a big soup dumpling before with so much soup! Went for the XiaLongBao around 10$ for 5 huge dumplings. The flavor was good but half the soup was lost as you bite as it was so much haha. I personally like the small delicate soup dumplings at din tai fung /dinesty etc but I would love to try some of the other foods.
Just tried the pan fried dumplings and really enjoyed it. Soupy as well.“

“A hole-in-the-wall restaurant that serves really delicious Shanghainese food! We really enjoyed the eggplant, braised pork belly, preserved veggie noodle soup, pan-fried pork bun, and spicy noodle. The cinnamon fermented milk tea is also very fragrant and I haven't seen it anywhere else. It was such a pleasant surprise to see a restaurant have their take on certain traditional dishes! I've come back 3x now and will be back for sure. Expect a busy crowd on the weeknights!“
