Tasty tasty tasty! I actually like it better than dolar and other premium hot pot places in Richmond. The food and soup is always delicious and they have this “secret” menu of fried skewers that are epic. Make sure to ask for the skewer menu and then try the fried chicken wings and the lamb. Soooooo good.

Be careful what you order, the menu was really hit or miss. The tomato broth was extremely watery, and certain cuts of beef were just not it. They do have some other good items on other parts of the menu, but for the most part we weren't extremely impressed. The servers were very kind and attentive though, so I'd be willing to give Shu Tao another chance (it just wouldn't be my first choice).

Terrible, tried to go there yesterday (Thursday night) the door was open but after went in they said they were closed. was wondering why because usually they are open everyday and they were like oh it's covid you should call before you go to any restaurant and not expect them to be open according to schedule?!?!?! really?!?!?!? and her attitude was TERRIBLE, can't imagine eating there .. also when I went in there were a lot of flies so the hygiene there is obviously terrible as well.. will never try again..I'm not begging to eat at your dirty restaurant...

First time here for a birthday, they were kind to let us use the private room free of charge for our large group. I like that it’s individual pots, my satay soup was not bad, quite liked the tom yum gong. However this restaurant really needs to work on their hygiene, the amount of flies that were in the room and landing on all our food and drinks was quite disgusting. We as customers had to borrow their electric fly swatter! Just to kill some of the flies. By the end we gave up and decided to just cook the food longer. The dumplings and beef tongue were good, but the rest of the food quality was very mediocre. Also I’m not sure if the utensils are just not washed properly or soaked in dirty soapy water because they have that smell like they’ve been washed in dirty water, or was it some of the food that was left out in the open for long, it left a terrible taste in our mouths, also don’t order the tripe because you can’t chew through it, it was like old rubber.Thankfully none of us had any stomach problems last night or this morning. My family raved about this place before COVID which is why we decided to go last night, but unfortunately the quality has dropped to the bottom. Please don’t waste your money eating hot pot here. Unless they improve things back to the quality they had before, I don’t see this restaurant lasting very long. Thank you to our server for trying so hard, she had excellent customer service, if not for her I will only give this place one star, the overall experience was just very bad, we should’ve gone to Haidilao or Dolar Shop, where our money is worth it.

I was here yesterday for Chinese New year. This place used to be amazing for hotpot with my friends. Somehow maybe covid?! The quality of the meat wasn't satisfied (felt like you could actually buy from any supermarkets yourself), the soup was definitely tasteless. So why should I spend my money here? ( Price point wasn't cheap neither)I seriously hope they do some changes, because there are many options out there. Service was ok.

With covid restrictions easing, my friends and I wanted hot pot at a restaurant with individual pots per person. I heard through word-of-mouth that their tomato broth is something the restaurant is proud of. I ordered it with high expectations and I have to say their tomato broth is hands down super delicious. The broth was tasty without being overly salty. My friend across from me who ordered the pork broth liked the tomato broth more. The meat portions are good. The vegetables are well-washed and super fresh. The veggie platter bowl is a lot of vegetables. The sauce bar is an extra charge and is not included (double check the bill to make sure the sauce wasn’t charged if you didn’t use the sauce bar). The service was great and prompt. They were attentive in refilling our pots with broth. They were able to accommodate our birthday cake for our table’s celebration. I enjoyed my time here.

Located in Richmond. They offer either individual or communal hot pot and this is not all you can eat so be prepared to pay for all the items plus sauce bar fee. I underestimated my spice tolerance and got the spicy butter broth which is like a Szechuan ma-la numbing spice. All my friends broths were really good though, especially the mushroom base and chicken base. Food quality is definitely there and a decent selection of sauces. For 3 people and 1 vegetarian, we paid under $50 each and left stuffed. Definitely worth once in awhile!

Friendly staff, clean with nice decor! There's a sauce bar you can choose different ingredients and sauces!! You can get a large pot to share with friends or individual pots for yourself.

While we still thinking corona virus still very far from us, but it's actually affecting Chinese restaurants in Richmond badly. We went for hot pot today, for my surprise the whole restaurant only has 4 tables occupied, looked very empty. The restaurant has both big hot pot or individual hot pot, for small group I would suggest you small hot pot. Their beef is a must have, I also like their fried tofu skin, goes well with hot pot. Hope the economy will get back to normal soon, so we can go for hot pot gathering again.
