I recently went to Silkway with my family. We always drive all the way from Cloverdale because it’s one of the few halal options, but honestly it has changed a lot over time.The service is very slow now. Our food comes out in bits and pieces, and we always have to ask for basic things like cutlery and water. The lady who serves is often rudeif you call her over to ask for something, she either doesn’t reply or pretends not to understand. When it gets busy, she seems to panic, which makes the whole experience stressful. The food quality and portion sizes have also gone down compared to before. I’m not sure if management changed or if they just don’t have enough staff, but it’s very noticeable.We only continue coming here because it’s halal, but sadly the experience is not what it used to be.

Amazing Halal Restaurant in Richmond! We had a wonderful dining experience at Silkway Richmond Halal Restaurant. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. We tried the shrimp soup, hot pot, and dumplings , all were delicious and cooked perfectly. The hot pot was especially enjoyable, full of rich flavors and generous portions. It’s great to find a halal restaurant offering such variety and quality. Highly recommended for anyone looking for authentic and tasty halal cuisine in Richmond!

The food is good and they have a lot of spicy dishes which I prefer for Chinese food. The lamp skewers and dumplings are wonderful. There is free parking at the building behind the restaurant (pay parking but free for 2 hrs for the restaurant customer). Good experience for the first time trying Chinese halal food 😊

We didn’t enjoy the food — definitely wouldn’t recommend it. To make things worse, the tip felt forced. We politely tried to decline it, but the staff made excuses and still charged it without giving us a clear option to opt out. It didn’t feel like a genuine gesture of appreciation — more like something we had no choice in. Overall, not a pleasant experience.

I visited this restaurant earlier this week and was surprised to find that tipping was mandatory. While I understand the importance of supporting staff, I believe tips should always be left to the customer’s discretion based on the quality of service received. Unfortunately, the service during my visit was below expectations, and the food was just average. Forcing customers to tip regardless of their experience is not a professional practice and left a negative impression.

Avoid during busy times. They cant handle orders during rush and bring everything in the wrong order. We were served randomly and had to constantly ask where is the food. Meanwhile they kept taking online orders and kept seating more people even though they could handle existing orders. Food is great and have been going there for a very long time but I dont think I will be returning now.

Food was good, but the service was horrible. They made us wait an hour for both having to wait for someone to take order and us finally receiving the food. Some people who entered, sat down, and ordered way after us were receiving their full orders before we received anything at all. It was like they provide better service to their regular and known customers than those who are just visiting the area.
