One of my favourite classic Richmond spots for Cantonese food. They have all the typical Canadian classics such as chow mien, sweet and sour pork, beef and broccoli etc, but they have tons of dish’s more focused towards the mostly Asian customer
Base. I have been going here for over 12 years and I have never had a bad experience. It’s very busy and often very loud. Reservations at dinner time 7-9 are recommended. They are open till late as well.

The food was so so, not overly good or bad. The ginger milk was good. But I”ll probably not coming back again considering the price and portion of food we got. The beef dice dish had more onions and veggie then the actual beef

Some delicious Hong Kong / Cantonese cuisine. This place is one of the least saltiest HK/Chinese restaurants I’ve eaten at. Very balanced and decent flavour. We came early at around 5-6pm but I highly recommend reservations. Fish tasted pretty good, beef was a bit oily but still good. Service was very friendly. Dessert was a Taro Sago (also called Ximiru) and was very good and not too sweet.

Best place for Chinese dinner.

Sing Yee Chinese Restaurant stands out not just for its delicious food but for the truly exceptional service that feels rare in today’s dining world. From the moment we arrived, it was clear this place is family-owned and operated with genuine care and pride. The staff greeted us warmly and took the time to explain menu options, making helpful recommendations without rushing. This level of attentiveness might honestly be the best service I’ve ever experienced in a Chinese restaurant.

The menu offers a great variety of classic Cantonese dishes alongside some modern twists. Each dish we tried was flavorful, fresh, and beautifully presented. The portions were generous, making it easy to share and sample a range of items. The crispy roasted duck was perfectly cooked with a wonderfully crisp skin and tender meat, while the stir-fried vegetables retained their vibrant color and crunch.

What really elevates Sing Yee is the warmth and attention from the staff. Throughout our meal, servers checked in thoughtfully, refilled our tea promptly, and genuinely seemed invested in making our experience memorable. It felt more like dining at a close friend’s home than a restaurant.

The dining room is cozy and inviting, making it ideal for family dinners or special occasions. Cleanliness and ambiance were spot on, contributing to a very comfortable atmosphere.

In summary, Sing Yee Chinese Restaurant combines top-notch food with what might be the best service you’ll find in any Chinese restaurant. It’s a gem worth visiting again and again.

Horrible service. Terrible staff there. When we asked something for the kids, the waitress said we asked too much. At the end of the dinner, we ordered extra to take away, the staff asked chef to delay the preparation as they are busy with other tables. We felt like once we paid our bill, we are second than other customers.

Came here for a casual birthday dinner. It's a family run business and they were really nice and accommodating. Every dish was really good and fresh, there was nothing left.

Would come back again. Thank you!

Appreciate the family-owned restaurant. The food is exceptional. While other upscale, renovated Chinese restaurants in town may not achieve the same level of “wok hei” as this establishment, they are still doing quite a commendable job. I will definitely return for another visit.

Was there at about 5.45pm and the place was already crowded. We were lucky to get a table. The food was good and large serving (don't have small serving).

You can also ask for their free soup.

Normal food, normal price
Get a pot of porridge for every three side dishes

Braised duck is average
Salt and pepper prawns and Sichuan beef tendon are both good
The chicken stew is not that thing and is too salty

This is one of my favorite late-night restaurants. The steamed fish they make is the best I've had so far, and they also offer a wide variety of marinated meat platters. The stir-fried vegetables are also very fresh and delicious.

The line up are pretty long during the weekends, even in the late 9 pm.
