My wife and I had a wonderful experience with just getting subway at this location. We had coupons that we were using, and just the vibe and customer service given by this individual was impeccable. I believe this lady was the owner? Anyways.. If you are looking to just pick up some great food or Subway. This location is the one to go!

The Subway at Garden City is one of the best places to grab a quick bite! The staff is always friendly and welcoming. I’ve been helped a few times by Jess and another lovely team member – both are exceptional. They always have a smile on their faces and you can tell they enjoy what they do. Great service makes all the difference. Highly recommend this location!

This has always been my Subway go-to location for almost a year now, as I have tried many other Richmond locations and have come to a conclusion that this one is the best in terms of staffs friendliness and store cleanliness. The Washroom is always clean, and veggies are always fresh as well. My experience at the store last night, Saturday night, was even reaching another level when I met Jaswinder, who is so attentive, friendly, generous, and helpful :) Thank you, Jaswinder 🙏🏻 -- Ming

Honestly, I’m not the biggest fan of subways. It’s been about a year since I’ve eaten subways and probably eaten subways less than five times in about five years lol. I guess I didn’t quite like their bread or toppings, it just tasted overly process to me. I can taste an additive to their bread compared to normal bread. It’s marketed as a healthy option for fast food but I didn’t really find it so when the food is overly processed even if there are veggies on it.
Nevertheless, SkiptheDishes was having a promotion to get 10,000 points for spending $25 at subways. And I like those challenges. So I figured a process sub isn’t the worst thing I could eat. (Stack that with the 10,000 points for five orders over $25, and it was basically $13 for $25)
Hence I ordered a steak and cheese sub with bacon in early March (haven’t gotten around to writing the reviews for a bunch of places I’ve tried) along with two of their new pepperoni rolls with garlic aioli. (The garlic aioli tasted good.)
Now one thing I noticed with ordering is the prices when using Skip for Subways vary by about 5-10% depending on the store. This store is one of the cheaper pricing and it was nearer and I liked the number 777 so I ordered here lol.
The sub was as I expected it to be. Pretty average to mediocre. The “steak” was more like roast beef bits. And the veggies, are veggies. Portions for the veggies were a bit small to my liking. But margins are margins. The bread was freshly baked (saw them putting in a fresh batch to the oven as I arrived) but highly processed. As I said, it wasn’t bad. Just not my definition of “healthy”. It tasted reasonably good. It’s not to do with the franchisee but the general Subways recipes imho.
What stood out however was the friendly service at this store for a morning pick up (oh I almost forgot, I stacked a 1000 extra points for order before 11 am lol). Upon arrival, my order was ready and to the side. The staff had a great attitude and genuinely said “thank you so much” with a smile as I picked up my order. And off I went with my sub and Starbucks coffee.
I also ordered two cookies which were good. The pepperoni rolls are meh but the garlic aioli was nice.
Pick up orders are so convenient and quick. Just not my kind of food especially with the variety in Metro Vancouver.
Overall, 3 stars food, 5 stars service, 4 stars for atmosphere (it’s your standard subways design with basic chairs and fast casual dining, suits expectations) for an average out of 4 stars.
I guess if you like Subways, this is a good location to order from. It’s just not my kind of food. (I eat sandwiches sure but I make it myself with whole grain bread and real ingredients. Than stabilizers and additives I’d expect in Subways dough - kinda typical for scale - but some stabilizers can be carcinogenic, and also affects the taste of the food.)
Oh yeah, packaging and bag was neat. Paper bag with handles cut out inside sealing the bag.
Friendly service, quick and convenient. Good subways location. Genuine friendly service. Not my favourite fast food.
