Great for a first date, birthdays, anniversary, etc. Large portions, quality food and fantastic service. Free parking is limited but pay parking is nearby if needed. After dinner walk the nearby Fisher Man's Warf.

The waitress was so rude. Everyone should avoid this place. The food was bad and burnt. Chef was moody. He put too much salt and sauce makes the food way too salty. The worst experince ever.
Waited 45 minutes for our table. Nobody offered us a drink even though we had a reservation food was edible place is dirty rundown paid $150 even though we had a Groupon I would say the food wasn’t even worth $40 would never go back highly recommend going to, the other place on Alberni or Broadway don’t waste your time driving out Steveston for this very mediocre place.
Chef Andy ?? had great skills in Teppanyaki! We enjoyed so much !

I had family in from out of town (Sept 21st) and we wanted to have some sushi after walking around in Steveston village. This was at about 3:10pm. We saw the sandwich boards on the sidewalk for this restaurant, so we followed the signs to the entrance and opened the door. When we walked in, it appeared to be closed, but I wasn’t sure if maybe it was just really slow, especially since the door was open. A man saw us through a set of doors and approached us. He seemed to be a cook of the restaurant. As he approached us, I asked if the restaurant was closed, and his response was “do you see any lights on?!”. He then proceeded to mumble a number of things and then said there was a closed sign. I said “ok, but so you know, all of your sandwich boards are outside, none of which said it’s closed, and the door was open.” He then became very aggressive and rude with us as we were already walking away. I said we definitely wouldn’t be coming back here ever again, and he then said, “good, don’t come back, I don’t want you here”.I was in complete shock to say the least, and so were my guests from out of town. How embarrassing! I hope someone teaches this cook some manners and customer service.

Little history from the old but young crowd , they used to do AYCE and it was decent. Better times , simpler world ? ( 10 plus years ago )

This place is absolute trash. Managed by mainland chinese pretending to be japanese. The teppanyaki chefs are SO BAD! Zero techniques and performance like other teppanyaki places. Food is rotten and very unfresh. Horrible experience. Had diarrhea 4 times after this place. Overpriced for horrendous quality food. Garbage.

Set back from the street, you have to find it, but it is worth it. The service was excellent and the food just as good. The staff took the time to explain everything. Steak was phenomenal.

Extremely long wait for our food. One sushi roll had a piece of plastic wrap in it. The edamame was room temperature. The rest of the food was mediocre at best.
Rachel and the team at Yokohama were outstanding in taking care of a large group of club members for us in early April. The service and food were not only delicious but abundant and beautifully presented. I would highly recommend Yokohama for a corporate or family event. Following the event a smaller group of us had the opportunity to have a Teppanyaki dinner. Again the food was fresh, delicious and abundant. The chef's presentation was also really entertaining and made for a fun evening. The staff were all super friendly and thoughtful. A great night out all round. We'll be back soon!
I bought a groupon for 2 for my sweetheart's Christmas present. We arrived early but the courteous staff seated us anyway and were quick to bring tea. The show did not start until the others, a family who also bought a groupon deal, showed up a short while later. The chef was smiley, polite and cooked the food with love at a comfortable pace. For me, the show tricks from this chef were somewhat simple, e.g., lots of flames, with less spinning and throwing compared to pricier hibachi that I had experienced in San Francisco. This was my partner's first time having a teppanyaki show and he loved it. The flavour and quality of the food is high, so we felt that overall the groupon was of good value. The shrimp, beef, onigiri and fried rice were standouts for me. Even the beansprouts were delicious and perfectly cooked. Yes, the food was a bit salty for my taste but it is subjective. Staff were friendly, polite and attentive. Ambiance was retro, moody and cozy. Yokohama is an excellent choice for a date night. We were quite full by the end, so we had to ask for a takeaway container. For dessert, we were offered coconut or mango ice cream. My partner had one and I had the other. Both were delicious. Overall, I think that Yokohama deserves a higher rating, e.g., 4.5 stars for the value. I was unable to select 4.5 when leaving this review, so I rounded up. You're welcome, Yokohama ;)
We ordered 2 sets of lobster and beef steak teppanyaki dinner. Lobster was okay, the beef steak has no taste and rough. Even the fried rice has no taste and it’s not really mixed evenly. The chicken udon was average and the mango ice cream was good. I think this is the worst teppanyaki I’ve ever experience
Good little spot order from Groupon. What a great deal
