My husband and I have given Yuu a 5 star in previous years and it is still our favorite place although we had one disappointment when we visited recently. We ordered the Miso Butter Ramen which we usually like to order and the pork chashu was tough and chewy and the broth was saltier than normal and we have only experienced this just the one time so maybe that is something the restaurant can improve on.

That being said, we still love this place and the service is also top notch!

since this place was posted EVERYWHERE on insta, i was reluctant but excited to try this place at the same time. so ofc i decided to try it since we only live once!!! we started off with rheir mentaiko frappe which came in a 500ml size cup and looked like an actual frappe. in ur first bite, u be questioning what ur consumint cuz u taste no mentaiko, but the sharp flav of CHEESE?? its not bad but like i wanna eat mentaiko not cheese... however pouring in the beautiful majestic dashi (broth) into it rounded out its sharp flavours giving a rich well balanced udon making it 10x easier to consume. so initially its not rly good but after it was quite delish 4/5
then came their famous curry potato udon, which tasted just like japanese cubed curry but a little bit better i guess... the tempura however was CRISPY AND MARINATED FINALLY O MYYYY id ONLY buy this for the tempura!!! 3/5

overall 3.7/5

It's Saturday night and I got picked up to go out for dinner. We wanted to explore richmond since we never explored this city. We parked at Continental Plaza next to all these high end, high performance vehicles. After some pre dinner drooling, my friend directed my attention towards Yuu. This place has been here since 2010. It is packed and surprisingly we didn't have to wait too long.

Menus came and wow the selection is huge. A huge selection can be a bad thing but if you look at all the pictures inside the menu, it looks really good. We even asked the staff member what he recommended. He's very straight forward and hospitality. I ordered the garlic pepper beef ramen. My friend ordered 54. So far so good on service, very friendly and prompt on our first visit.

That garlic pepper broth whoa... I did not expect this. You have to be a garlic lover to enjoy this broth because it's really good. This item is popular on the menu apparently. I enjoyed every bit of the beef, sweet and savory. The spicy pork ramen bowl is good. It's only got a level 2 rating for spice. Next time we will order the hell fire. Our tolerance for spice is higher.

Dessert comes. We ordered the fried sticky sesame balls with vanilla ice cream. Nicely done. Visual appeal is lovely and taste did not dissapoint.

In conclusion, our visit is memorable.
Service is amazing, perhaps we were the lucky ones because a few people here said their service wasn't as pleasant. The selection is enormous. I would definitely come back for lunch and try some of their drinks like the kitkat shake or ferrero chocolate shake, pretty cool. On the walls they post different specials, I love that. It gets boring when you just post the same specials on every wall or at the table to view.

We tried the takoyaki, deep-fried abalone mushrooms, cold ramen, and the milk seafood hotpot. Overall, the food was decent, though nothing particularly stood out. Some pieces of the abalone mushroom had an odd taste, which made us wonder about the food storage. On a positive note, the interior of the restaurant was quite nice and well-decorated.
