When I walked in the restaurant to the table server walked into me with no apologies. Servers arent exactly friendly, Food was meh, the flying ramen would say to avoid, it's basically a gimmicky noodle with flying chopstick and the soup was flavorless. Some dishes were ok but I feel like this visit was a disappointment. We also had a latte udon which also seemed gimmicky but reportly it was tasty so that was good at least.

Cool place, my mashed potato udon was delicious and so so so comfy. I really needed that in the moment and yuu delivered. A very rare japanese experience in Vancouver oddly enough where this kind of food feels almost looked down upon whereas you can find sushi and ramen around every corner. I hope this kind of relaxed style catches on, otherwise ill just have to keep coming back here to hit the spot.

So, we went to get dinner here. I got the ramen with pork katsu & my cousin got the creamy mashed potato curry udon with tempura. Both are good deals for less than $20. Massive servings and the taste are to our liking. The mashed potato curry udon is quite heavy and would be good for carb loading food. My ramen is on the lighter side, with thin noodles and the flavor is quite to my taste as well. It's paired with katsu (u can choose chicken or pork katsu) and i feel that it is really a good deal. Overall, we enjoyed our dinner. The place is located with lots of choices around the area, and parking is available as well. Love it. :> I will definitely recommend this place coz there are a lot of choices with their menus, ranging with entrees, appetizers, drinks, and desserts.

Strong recommendation: Please do not bring young children to the restaurant for meals. It is not friendly to families with young children at all.
First, a waiter reluctantly helped us put the high chair where we wanted. Anyone with children knows that the high chair should be placed inside rather than outside. Putting it inside can avoid accidents.
In addition, this restaurant does not allow us to bring food for children to eat in the restaurant. My daughter has gastrointestinal discomfort and wants to eat porridge. The waiter actually said that she cannot eat food that is not from the restaurant and only accepts baby food. This waiter has no sympathy at all. Rational mind.
I am very disappointed with this restaurant.

Reading the reviews, many people said that the portions of this restaurant have shrunk, so I specially ordered a side dish. To be honest, a pumpkin pot with a large portion is actually quite filling. The portion is worthy of the price. The taste is good and the attitude of the waiter is not as bad as mentioned in the reviews. I highly recommend it.
Affordable food with decent service. Always packed! Big variety of different Japanese foods, some better than others.

I visited at the end of August 2024 - it was one of the most memorable meals on our trip to Vancouver! Everyone left happy and full. For the price, the portions given were very reasonable. Service was okay as they came to refill water, but not very attentive. Overall a great place for those who enjoy plenty of options on the menu!
