Cassette Cafe and Dive Bar

Wanted to try their Crispy Chicken Burger though sadly they were out of chicken. Has the Cassette Burger which was excellent as was the service - will return for The Chicken soon. The place can be loud as there is little to dampen the noise from patrons.

Update to my earlier visit. We dropped in and had the Crispy Chicken Burger - simply AMAZING as others had said it would be. The salads were also so interesting - The Wedge and Dashwood most excellent - thanks again.

Cool little spot, we got some cocktails and burgers, the cocktails were delicious and creative, my wife liked the purple haze (pictured) The burgers were solid, the staff was friendly and welcoming. Would recommend.

Fantastic food, the fried chicken was "the best" according to my son. The fries and burgers were top notch. A great place for a cocktail and relax with the family and dog on the patio.

Cassette is an absolute must visit when traveling to Salt Spring Island. When I visit I have gone by myself and sometimes with my friends. The food is 10/10, always fresh and delicious. I have tried almost all of the menu and loved every product. Today I had the Rockfish Burger and is was very tasty and the portions are plenty . The atmosphere is great, the staff is super friendly, the owner is so welcoming. The cool merchandise you can buy is an added bonus. Such a gem of a spot.

Dive Bar? Nope. More like funky gastro-pub with a fun "food truck at a dance party" aesthetic.

We enjoyed the Wedge Salad with Fried Chicken, a Veggie Burger with Truffle Fries & a Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich (hot but not melt your face hot). All of which were excellent, as was the service.

Definitely on our list for a return visit.

Great service and casual atmosphere. Tried few shareables and burgers. Roasted zucchinis were amazing! Salmon rillette dip and backwoods salad with fried chicken were really good as well. Oklahoma smash burger was great. Four winds light lager that was on a whole day happy hour was not my favourite

Great service and atmosphere but very disappointed by the food. The Korea chicken was dry, and the salmon crudo tasted a bit fishy and lacked flavour, I added lime which made it a bit better but still underwhelming especially for close to $80 for two appetizers and two drinks. It's a no go here.

We have been on Salt Spring for 24 hours and we have eaten here 4 times… dinner, breakfast, lunch (to go) and dinner again. ZOMG, we love this place. The burgers, steak frites, zucchini, salads (wedge and harvest), chicken, and fish sandos were all top notch. Great vibes. Great service. Excellence.

This place deserves 10 stars it’s so good. On SSI for two days, went to Cassette 3 times. Their fried chicken items are to die for. Burgers, delish. Pesto pasta, amazing. Steak and frites, wow. Most impressive were their veggie - based dishes. CASSETTE’S SALAD GAME IS ON POINT!!! Nothing disappointed. Ate here with my family and we did family style both times. Genuinely a perfect restaurant. Great ambiance, food, drinks, people. Coming back to SSI just for this restaurant. Wish I took better pics of the food. Don’t make the same mistake as me.

I had the Oklahoma Smash burger, and it was seriously great! The service was super friendly, and the bartender mixed up some awesome drinks. It was the perfect spot to hang out and relax on a Saturday night on Saltspring Island. Definitely a chill place to grab a bite and unwind. Highly recommend!
