Cassidy was our server for a group of 4 and we never had refills on our drinks. Felt like she had more service towards the younger boys that were beside us. Had asked her multiple times for a refill on my drink and every time she came around asking if she could get us anything and everyone one of us old folks said yes asking for another beverage… Yet we never got anything but the first round and our food… we were there for a good time since the group of us has been recommend from others to come there for a decent price and accommodation for a good catch up. If our waitress would’ve spent a little more time paying attention us I would’ve given Mobys a much better review, she really ruined my experience at the one and only bar that’s decent enough to visit on Salt Spring. Insanely disappointed in the service here.

Our dining experience here was completely ruined by our server Cassidy. Her behaviour toward the younger patrons in our group was extremely inappropriate and made multiple people in our party visibly uncomfortable. Food was great and rest of the staff seemed very nice, but this particular server went far beyond friendly service and crossed clear professional boundaries with the young men in our party. It was unsettling, unprofessional, and unacceptable.

Since moving to Salt Spring full time this past summer, I’ve had plenty of meals at Moby’s. Not once have I had a bad experience. The food is always excellent. My go to meals are the Sanpacho Bowl, the tacos, the Moby’s Burger and the Steak. The chicken wings and onion rings are unreal starters too.

The service is exceptional and within a month, everyone of the staff started calling by my first name which is a really nice touch. Each time I feel welcomed and a local even though I’ve only been here 5 months.

No understanding for staff.
Got severe food sickness from lack of care for vegetarians. I don't suggest this place if you are vegan, vegetarian or have any dietary difficulties.

Fantastic Tuesday night! Fun pub trivia, plus great value burger + beer special. Probably the best salmon burger I’ve ever had.

I ordered a fish & chips and duck wings to go, and found a bold hair inside the coleslaw that came with the fish & chips. I didn’t notice it until I almost finished eating. I’m about 30 minutes away from the restaurant, otherwise I would’ve gone back to show them. Really disappointed as I was looking forward to the meal…..

I am saddened to say my table and I had an incredibly disappointing experience. Not only was the server unhelpful and short with us, but the food was equally poor. Some people at our table enjoyed the fish and chips and the wings, reporting that they were okay, hence the two stars. The rest of the meals, including mine, were inedible. I would have sent the meal back, but the server was not approachable this night. I grew up on Saltspring Island, and I have always received great service here, so I hope this was a one-off and perhaps she was having a hard evening; we all do from time to time.
My meal included flavourless tomatoes, old guacamole, seasoned-looking rice that had no flavour, and flavourless, undercooked tofu with a quick pickled onion. I appreciate the effort that Moby’s has not taken to include more plant-based options, as “Cassette” has none, and therefore, unfortunately, when I am dining out with a group, we have avoided this restaurant.
If you are looking for classic pub food, such as deep-fried options, then Moby’s might be a suitable choice; however, if you are hoping to have a salad or try one of their new “bowls,” I would highly recommend against it.
I hope the menu at Moby’s continues to adapt, and I am looking forward to seeing what changes and improvements might happen, as there is always an adjustment period. Best wishes and happy dining.

Maybe the best pub we’ve been to on Vancouver island. Beautiful view, great service, good selection of beers and excellent happy hour deals, what more could you ask for.
