Naomi, Owner & Chef of Omja restaurant also caters outstanding Indian meals. Our two Welsh families of eight, visited us on Salt Spring and Naomi completely took all the culinary worries away from us. Not only were the dishes outstanding in flavour and appearance but she personally delivered everything. (We live close by her restaurant.) There was enough food for 11 of us for two nights!!! We had five exquisite mains:
Butter Chicken
Eggplant Bharata
Aloo Gobi
Lamb Curry
Palak Paneer
plus Basmati rice, Naan and a gorgeous minted salad of cucumber, tomato & red onion
Everything was beautifully garnished and best of all:
EVERYONE (all ages) LOVED THE FOOD!!
Naomi gives 100% of herself and you feel the LOVE that goes into it. Highly recommended to cater a magnificent feast at a very reasonable price!!
Thank you so much.

$24 for a small masala dosa, it was ok, but definitely not worth the price, barely any toppings too. I would’ve been happy if I paid $12 max for it, but at this price point you certainly expect more.

🤤😋

The Locals should support this one.

The food at Omja is so good! My husband and I shared the Bengali Chicken and Goat Curry. The spices used made each dish really special. You could tell that much care and time was put into each dish. Their chai is also excellent. We live on the mainland and have a lot of great choices for Indian food, and Omja is tops!

What a find on Salt Spring Island! I was in India earlier this year and consider myself an expert in Indian Food. The samosa's, dosa's and chair are everything you want for a perfect dose of Mother India in BC. There was a line when I was there but it was worth the wait. Our whole group sat at the big outside picnic table in the sunshine and enjoyed our lunch.

Lovely owner, with her young daughter. I had the masala (potato filled) dosa ( like a pancake) which was generous and served with a raita like chutney, some cooked eggplant and another yummy chutney. The whole thing was filling and very tasty after a hike up Mt Erskine. Highly recommend!

We were staying in Armand Heights and tried to order Indian. Found Omja. Very friendly woman on the other side of the line. She said they only have biryani and dosa and another dish. I wanted aloo gobi or any vegetable dish. She said they don’t have vegetables but dosa is a vegetable. Her menu only had 3 items. We were hungry so we ordered the biryani and dosa even when I didn’t want either. The food came. The biryani was like porridge with a few small pieces of lamb for $28. The dosa $24 was something I’d never seen before. It was doughy and thick and with a small amount of potatoes, I think. It was horrible. There was a $10 charge for delivery which we did not mind. With a tip we had two horrible dishes which we couldn’t eat for over $70.I would not recommend this so called restaurant for food even though the lady was very nice.I eat a lot of Indian food but I did not detect any taste that was Indian except for the small accompaniments of Dahl and SambhaI gave one star because it would not allow me to give it no stars.

Great quality, lovely owner, fresh and flavourful dishes. 4 stars instead of 5 because: the proportion of the main dish was quite small, it was mostly rice. The chai tasted good but was weak and watered down, and she also forgot to give me the samosa I ordered and by the time I noticed it was too late to turn around and go back. You will definitely enjoy the good bits, though!

I recently had the opportunity to try the Omja Indian Food Truck, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. From the moment I approached the food truck, I could smell the aromatic spices wafting through the air, enticing my taste buds. One of the things that impressed me the most about Omja Indian Food Truck was the use of fresh ingredients. It was evident that they prioritize quality and authenticity in their dishes. The vegetables were crisp and vibrant, and the meats were tender and succulent. It truly added a level of freshness to each bite. The service at Omja Indian Food Truck was friendly and efficient. The staff members were knowledgeable about the menu and provided recommendations based on individual preferences. In terms of pricing, I found the food to be reasonably priced for the quality and portion sizes. It offered great value for money, considering the freshness of the ingredients and the authentic flavors.Overall, I highly recommend trying the Omja Indian Food Truck if you're a fan of Indian cuisine. With its focus on fresh ingredients, flavorful dishes, and friendly service, it is a fantastic option for a quick and delicious Indian food experience on the go.

One of the best food trucks on Salt Spring Island!! Authentic Indian fusion cuisine. Everything is organic. Food made fresh everyday with a large selection of different items to choose from… do not miss out! I will definitely return. I ordered the duck curry and samosas, both were absolutely amazing!!!
