The Pizza Cavern

I've been eating here weekly since I moved to Salt Spring Island in February. there is a 50/50 chance that when I order a slice it's either delicious or several hours old, stale, leftover pizza. Because of this, when I really want a delicious pizza I will order a medium to go. Today I ordered a pizza, payed $20 and a $3.33 tip and received a burnt pizza for my effort. I went back to the shop and disrespectfuly threw the box on the counter and then said "$20 for burnt pizza, thanks man" and left. I'm willing to accept variable quality in slices but burning an entire pizza and letting my pay for it and leave is awful customer service.

What we thought was going to be fresh, delicious pizza.. turned out to be some of the worst pizza we’ve ever had. We were recommended this place for their “gluten free” crust (celiac). Well, their homemade gluten free crust came right from a bag and it was barely edible. Not to mention the old, watery toppings. Flies and bland, rubbery pizza crust? No thanks! Especially not for over $50. Definitely do not recommend.

We've been here 3 times now and this place consistently has amazing pizza. We get a ready slice of cheese pizza and the slice is so satisfying. It has the perfect amount for cheese, nicely seasoned sauce and a good crust.
Affordable prices and super convenient! Thank you again, we will be back.

A lot of the reviewers are complete losers. Crying about not being allowed in without shoes? Many of the LOSERS leaving 1 star are just butt hurt they can't act like children. Absolute losers crying about nothing. I've had this pizza many times and it's pretty good. 9/10.

I was really looking forward to trying the pizza here but now I never will. My boyfriend is the kindest, sweetest, nicest guy. He used to eat here often and always tipped well. One day on his lunch break the owner chose to inexplicably ignore him. He served people who came in after him so my boyfriend waited patiently for his turn. He sat at the counter and waited. Trying to make eye contact but continued to be ignored. His lunch break was coming to a close so he left to find something else for lunch a bit annoyed. Who wouldn’t be? The guy treated him like he was invisible. So odd and strange. After not going back for a couple of months he returned hoping it was just an off day for the guy. The owner straight up told him no, he couldn’t have any pizza. 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ What? Why? The owner said last time he was in he was rude and impatient. My boyfriend is more patient and kind than the average person so none of this makes sense. I won’t ever have this pizza because apparently the owner is a moody, judgemental jerk. If you choose to eat here just know that the owner might turn on you for no reason one day too. It’s an unfortunate situation for a normally lovely, small close knit community.

Dietary restrictions: The gluten free crust was pretty good. Not gummy like a lot of places.

My favourite place to grab a slice! THE ONLY AFFORDABLE PLACE TO EAT ON SALT SPRING! The owner is truly a man of the people!
The pizza is delicious, the commitment to making a new daily special pizza everyday that somehow is better than the last is testament to the creativity and passion that goes into this place. also where else can you find chigo deep dish style pizza?
Go get a slice of that new york thin!

Best pizza in Salt Spring Island without question. The owner puts his heart and soul into making great pizza. Never had a piece of pizza that didn't love me as much as I loved eating it. Stop by.

Solid pizza spot with a beast of an owner(?) who seems to one man the whole show, except perhaps delivery. Prices were crazy cheap and the calzones and pizza by the slice were top notch.
