“My wife and I visited the Marionette Winery on the way back from a wine tour vacation in Penticton/Oliver/Osoyoos. On a whim we decided to try this small winery in Salmon Arm.

It is an operation with a lot of heart, and with a number of unique wines that differ from those of the south Okanagan in notable ways. The location is farther north and the grape varietals are different (more German & Austrian) adding to the uniqueness, which we appreciated.

The venue reminded me of the small, family-run wineries along the Route du Vin in Alsace. They also have a good offering of food and are open late (until 11pm). The staff were great—knowledgeable, professional, and friendly—and the picturesque location is convenient.

I am so glad that we took the time to visit Marionette, and encourage others to do so. And they have good plans for the future—I wish them luck and will visit them next year to see how things have progressed!“
