We waited over half an hour for a single overpriced hot chocolate

Dahlia Thomas

Tried their hot chocolate this year with coconut and yuzu. I did not get their apple pie "fries". The hot chocolate was rich and good with hints of yuzu but I didn't taste coconut. I liked the flaky pastry but the frosting on top was too sweet for me. The size and amount of hot chocolate is a good deal as it is not a small cup.

I have been here quite a few times before for their chowder bowls. I would get their clam or salmon chowder bowl when I would visit in the summertime! As well as their bubble tea. I enjoy their soups and the lemon meringue pie. There is limited seating since it is a market. But on a weekday it is not too busy! I will have to try their soup and pie again soon as I have not had in it a long time. Staff are nice.

The scenery outside is very good, you can see the sea! ! Crispy clam chowder is the best! There are just a little less clams, but the pastry is super crispy and delicious!
There are birds outside that will come close to you and try to steal some food. It’s scary and cute at the same time.

Delicious clam chowder. Pastry was puffy and soup was creamy and yummy. Would say this place is a bit pricey ($16) for one soup but it is pretty filling.

Good food but if you are paying cash, make sure you triple check your change. The cashier could not for the life of her give me the right change. She even said aloud “$66.40” and she first gave me $30.20, then when I said she owes me $66.40, she gave me just $30 and couldn’t calculate that she owed me $6.20 more. I had to tell her exactly what to hand me. I can see how they’d pocket a few bucks here and there from doing this each tourists all day.

Bought a slice of Raspberry pie, seemed very old and dry. For $8 I would expect better.

The service was quick, the clam chowder was good. The beef stew was too salty. I won’t be returning, the price for the chowder was hefty. It was about $18 for the clam chowder.

The line was very long, but the soup and pie were delicious, but there wasn't much room to sit and it was inevitable that it would be noisy since it was a market. But the clam chowder soup was my life.

Kid-friendliness: It's so crowded that you have to take care of your children well.

Absolutely disgusting lemon pie. Filling hard as a rock, sour and very little crust that was also horrid tasting like onion. We’ve tried this place in a few times and we are done. Nearly $20 for 2 pieces of pie that went into the trash. Avoid waiting in line for what you will find utterly disappointing. If I could give zero stars for the food, I would.

This place just gets worse and worse. We always get a clam chowder when we come to Granville island but each time we get slightly more disappointed. Just an over priced tourist trap at this point.

On this occasion my clam chowder was very watered down, very lightly salted (which is fine for us), and has lack of ingredients inside. The only part we really enjoyed was the puff pastry.

We used to come here all the time for the pot pies but the quality lately have changed a lot. It used to be better
Pot pies used to be served with a salad as well, but this time they don’t

Although the whole pies are good, i dont think i will come back again for the pot pies. I would rather buy a full meal somewhere else

Do not, under any circumstances, get the Pacific salmon pie. By weight, there were more pieces of salmon bone than actual salmon. We gave up after picking out about 20 pieces of vertebrae. Devoid of any flavor. Go elsewhere.

The build up to going here was a let down.
The counter service was basically mute with no interaction aside from dropping the pie onto a paper plate with no offer of a fork.
The view was nice, the tables clean but the actual pie outlet, not so much.

We ordered clam chowder pot pies and we can clearly tell the soups are premade and microwaved right before serving. The soup tastes nothing like clams and it has cold portions of it. Would not recommend to locals as it’s a tourism attraction place apparently
