The food is delicious. The smell of toilets isn't. It's also quite dirty in here but the food is really delicious.

DISGUSTING!!!!! there were 6 bugs in the soup and the staff made me, as the customer, talk to his boss on the phone about the bugs. we walked out

Been visiting this place for the last 3 years, and always getting the beef house special and it has been consistent!
Temperature, flavour and size! Price is reasonable too! Get the combo spring roll for just a $1!! Aside from the given delicious pho! What made my experience way better today is the server (shorma, i maybe wrong sorry!) he is smiling to everyone, very attentive on all his tables, giving water refills, updating on when the food is coming out. And even says goodbye with a big smile every time someone leaves and comes in. It was very great customer service!! 🙌🏼

Walked in with our baby and walked right back out. The smell is extremely strong and concerning like mold or mothballs and hits you immediately. It didn’t feel like a safe or clean environment to stay in. I wouldn’t even order out from here as I’d be worried about food safety.

I used to be a regular customer here for a while a couple of years ago, initially visiting on the strong recommendation of a friend who works at VGH. I was excited to visit again recently after a long absence, but I left feeling a bit disappointed as I believe there are a few areas that could be improved.

The most noticeable issue was the lingering, foul scent, like the one from the washroom, that was very strong throughout the entire restaurant. Additionally, the table we were seated at was dirty, to the point where my friend had to wipe it down with a tissue before we could use it.

A young gentleman serving us, after taking off his black cap, repeatedly scratched his hair. This was seen while another customer was served as well. I recognize this is likely a subconscious habit, but in the service industry, it's something that needs to be addressed immediately for hygiene and professionalism.

If the washroom/general smell is a temporary issue (perhaps due to plumbing or heavy rain), a simple sign stating 'Sorry for the temporary inconvenience/smell. We are actively working to resolve the issue' would go a long way. Giving an idea, there was a chalkboard standing outside the restaurant with one side blank. For the staff, practicing not touching hair or face is a crucial and healthier habit.

I genuinely hope this family-run restaurant remains successful, as I know it has great potential. I will certainly try visiting again in the future, hoping to see these small but important changes implemented.

Thank you in advance for your efforts!

You don't go to any hole-in-the-wall restaurant for their atmosphere or restaurant ambiance as it's not what they put their focus on! Food! It's their attention to food, flavour and ingredients that they're selling you on! A Taste of Vietnam is the place you want to go if you want no-fuss delicious simple Vietnamese food! I ordered their Pho Dac Biet (house special) and I was flabbergasted at how clean and tasty the soup was. The soup had the usual rare beef, beef ball and some other cut of the cow. I was hoping for tendon but I was more than delighted with what's on my table! The side bean sprouts and basil lime were as fresh as if they're picked before serving! The noodles not too soft and not too chewy. I would return in a heartbeat. Please support these guys, they're pitted against the Broadway Subway Project and the inconveniences of losing their roadside parking and being blocked by a huge yellow excavator!

I read the previous reviews but decided to give this restaurant the benefit of the doubt, since we recently moved to the area. Unfortunately, it seems they haven't been too receptive of the advice of previous customers.

The restaurant still has a foul odor, as stated 5 months ago, from a previous customer. It's likely from the washrooms, and to me, seems like it's a sewage issue. Maybe getting a plumber in to take a look at the pipes would lead to an outcome, but for now, the whole restaurant still has a bad smell. Disappointing, considering this has been mentioned previously.

The food was fine, not amazing, but not bad. Pretty much what you expect for the price point.

Service was good. But there was no one else in the restaurant so it's hard to see how it could be bad.

Atmosphere was poor. No other patrons in the restaurant at 6.15pm on a Friday evening. That combined with the smell just lead to a bad experience.

I don’t think it should take more than an hour to make lemon grass chicken. Ordered through uber eats ! Sent 2 different drivers . If you’re overwhelmed then stop taking online orders.
