I really recommend this restaurant for groups! We were a group of 8 and so could share a few of the platters, absolutely delicious food! We sat at a low table on the floor with some huge cushions and it was incredibly comfortable. The atmosphere was super cosy, there was music but not too loud so we could always hear each other. The staff were very friendly. It's a shame we weren't there for one of the belly dancing shows but will gladly come back! Such a lovely evening, thank you.

Afghan Horsemen restaurant has stolen my heart with their exquisite Badenjan Borani dish, a vegetarian delight that never fails to impress. The restaurant's ambiance gracefully transports you to the captivating landscapes of Afghanistan, immersing diners in its beauty and charm. However, what truly sets this establishment apart is the remarkable service provided by Farhad. His unparalleled dedication and attentiveness consistently exceed expectations, making every visit a memorable experience. Without a doubt, Afghan Horsemen has become my go-to destination for not only delectable cuisine but also impeccable service. Highly recommended for an unforgettable dining experience!

I found the evening remarkable, because not only did the food delight us, the family run Afghan Horsemen takes such pride in their work environment. The food was absolutely sumptuous and tasty, it was wholesome and you can taste the authentic preparation in the plating. The platter we had was the Afghan Horsemen special platter with 2 starters, veggies, and this massive plating with Lamb kebabs, Chicken kebabs, and a shoulder Lamb piece. The veggie portions were Moussaka and Potatoes 3 ways.Fantastic experience ?? Strongly recommend trying their specialty dishes

I like their Qabeli Palaw with braised lamb shoulder. Tender meat with carrot/raisin rice pilaf and nice potato and spinach.

I came here with about 30 people on March 7, we booked the plush floor seating room. The room was very cozy! My old bones protested about being seated on the floor, but that’s my fault. The cushions did a lot to soften the experience though. The staff were fantastic. The most patient people I’ve ever seen. Everything came as ordered, and delicious. I commend the staff for sparing the men by serving the women first: smart move!Thank you so much for your patience, we’d love to visit again in the future!

Excellent food followed by fantastic service. We discovered this place in 2022 and have returned several times. The staff are friendly when entering and we always end up ordering the horseman platter which feeds two generously with nearly an entire meal to take home.We have tried food all over the city and this has set a high bar for Afghan food. Everything on the platter is a home run and is consistently delicious time and time again.Shout out to our server FARHADHe was kind, warm and attentive, the food came to the table promptly with multiple visits to check on us. Definitely, the kind of server you’d want if you owned a restaurant. So ignore one star reviews left by ignorant and uneducated people and give it a shot. :)

Fabulous birthday dinner this evening at Afghan Horsemen. Wonderful service from Farhad right from the moment we arrived. Friendly, welcoming, attentive but not invasive. There when we needed him, but not overbearing like some servers who want to tell you their life story. Answered our questions with knowledge of the menu with a gentle, helpful nature. We began with the deep-fried potato pakawra ($13) and spinach sabzi ($11) as appetizers, and both were served fresh and hot. And absolutely delicious! Best potatoes anywhere, to be sure. All dinners were bountiful and full of flavour. We had chicken shish kebab ($25), braised lamb shank ($29) and vegetarian special platter ($23). These plates were loaded with a variety of delicious delicacies, including basmati rice, baked eggplant, lentil stew, spinach sabzi, vegetable salad with feta cheese, and more of those gorgeous potato pakawra. There was so much delicious food that, even though we ate all we could and loved every mouthful, there was still enough left over to fill two take-out containers to enjoy for another meal at home.Because it was my birthday dinner, Farhad kindly offered me a free dessert, and I chose the Afghani Baklava, which came in two pieces, warm, and with a lit candle in one. We shared this treat and it was a lovely end to a fabulous meal. The restaurant is large with a room of booths and tables, and another room where customers sit on large floor cushions in a more traditional dining manner. The walls are covered in interesting photos of old Afghanistan, artwork and beautiful hanging fabrics such as rugs and weaving. Afghani music was playing but not so loud that it over-powered the room. We felt transported to another time and place. What a spectacular birthday celebration it was for me! Everything was delightful and I can highly recommend Afghan Horsemen for a delicious, memorable meal. Thank you, Farhad, for your wonderful service. You helped make the dinner very special for all of us.Vegetarian options: There is plenty to eat for vegetarians and vegans, in fact specialty platters for each with enough variety to satisfy anyone. In fact, it's especially good for non-carnivores as it's not just a "vegan option" or "vegetarian option", there is plenty of choice and all of it fabulous.
