Aiyaohno Cafe is a cosy spot situated in the foyer of a building. I ordered the dumpling bowl (from a previous reviewers photo) and the owners were happy to make it, even though it’s no longer listed on the menu. Made with homemade dumplings, fresh veg, soft tofu and purple rice, the bowl was incredibly tasty and filling.

Cute little cafe serving authentic matcha and hojicha from Japan, located in Vancouver's Chinatown. Their hojicha oat milk latte was excellent. Owners are warm and welcoming, and will strike up friendly conversation with you. I'd love to come back to try their food options, which include plenty of vegan options ranging from sandwiches to noodles to bowls.

The café seems to be located in the lobby of another building and has limited seating with only a few chairs and tables. The sandwich I ordered was amazing, but the experience with the matcha was disappointing. It was served cold, and they didn’t have enough regular cups, so they gave me a to-go cup, which felt smaller than usual. I tried the Hot Chocolate Festival matcha, and it was definitely not worth it compared to the price.
