Terrible pickup experience. Their notes said to wait outside, so I stood there for 10 minutes with no one coming. A lady said she’d bring the order, then never came back. No updates, no communication—just staff inside busy chatting. Completely unprofessional.

Tried the signature vermicelli bowl which was good but it's not anything crazy. It's not really worth the price compared to other vietnamese restaurants in my opinion. The vietnamese iced coffee is alright but it's pretty light on the condensed milk. Overall a pricey experience that makes you feel like you're paying extra for the ambiance.

Stumbled upon this place while having a stroll along main street. The initial interaction with the 1st hostess was not great. She was a little snoty and gave us a bad first impression. When we came back a few minutes later we were greated by another hotess and she was great. The atmosphere, food and service was excellent. The mango salad was fresh and crunchy with a tasty sauce. The wonton soup was excellent.

We always enjoy this restaurant. Although I find it can be a little loud with the music and people trying to have conversations over the volume of it all. Great vibe otherwise.

Definitely one of my Favourites however I always order the regular beef pho that comes with three different types of beef. I always ask to sub the beef brisket for raw sirloin. I also always pay five dollars extra for EXTRA sirloin. This is the fourth time they have not given me extra sirloin and have just done the substitution instead. That’s $20 down the drain. Please pay attention to your orders and to your customers adjustments.

Owner forces $10 PER PERSON donations to make reservations to eat here.

You can avoid this by standing in the rain and waiting for a table.

No tax receipt was provided for the reservation either, though the owners must get a nice return.

Arrive at the restaurant early or you may queue up. It's quite Western-style Vietnamese food. The taste is very unique. The service is very thoughtful. It's not easy to get a Michelin recommendation for 4 consecutive years.

I love Vietnamese food and have been wanting to eat at Anh and Chi for the longest time so I was quite excited to go tonight. But unfortunately - I have to say that overall the experience was rather underwhelming.

The food was good but not that different from what you’d get at any number of Vietnamese restaurants on Victoria drive so it’s a bit hard to justify the significantly higher prices at Anh and Chi. I think the main difference is some nice details with the presentation of the food and the attractive space and ambience of the restaurant. The service was ok; the hostess was indifferent, our server was friendly and served us our food - good but nothing noteworthy.

I think if restaurant decor and vibe is important to your dining experience and you don’t mind paying significantly more for that, then you might appreciate what Ahn and Chi has to offer. If you just want really tasty Vietnamese food, head to Victoria drive.

We ordered:
Crispy prawn cakes - not great, I wouldn’t recommend this one
Signature vermicelli bowl - very nice, spring rolls were crispy and really liked the variety of greens served with the vermicelli
Caramelised sable fish - very tasty, some heat, order extra rice to enjoy the yummy sauce
Beef short ribs rice - good but same as other Vietnamese restaurants
Chicken wings - good but nothing special

Delicious food! Definitely be prepared to wait for tables on weekends. Weekdays are also quite busy.

We loved the fresh lettuce and herbs served with the crispy spring rolls. It had a lovely crunch and wrapping it in the greens made it taste super refreshing. The sauce on the side was also a hit.

The pho was huge and loaded with lots of beef. The broth had a really nice meaty flavour that went amazing with the Vietnamese herbs. We all got the deconstructed vermicelli bowl that had lots of pork. The betel leaf rolls and pork patties tasted great and the grilled pork had a lovely char with a hint of sweetness. I really liked that it was served in warm fish sauce. Both of these dishes are each more than enough for one!

I have never in my life been treated so poorly at a Michelin-recommended restaurant. I regularly visit Michelin-recommended places around the world—especially those without stars—to showcase how amazing and accessible great cuisine can be, without having to spend a small fortune. That was exactly the kind of positive video I intended to create at your restaurant.

Unfortunately, my experience was unlike anything I have ever encountered.

I waited alone in line and simply asked if there was a free table. Before I could even mention that I create content about Michelin restaurants, I was met with an extremely annoyed expression. When I politely asked if everything was alright, I was ignored. I continued to wait calmly and asked again, only to be ignored a second time. As someone visiting alone, I felt unwelcome from the very beginning.

When I finally decided to leave, the staff member suddenly tried to tell me that “everything was okay,” but that did not change the way I had been treated. This is not the level of hospitality one expects from any restaurant—let alone one recommended by Michelin.

I came on a regular day, was in a great mood, and had been enjoying my time in Canada very much up to that point. It was extremely disappointing to be greeted by someone who clearly did not want to be working and who should not be the first point of contact for guests.

I will also forward this experience to Michelin. In all my years of visiting Michelin-recommended restaurants across the world—alone or with others—I have always been treated with warmth, respect, and professionalism. Never before have I been ignored or made to feel unwelcome simply for arriving by myself.

It is a real shame that this visit left such a negative impression.

I visited Anh and Chi recently and ordered the lemongrass chicken vermicelli bowl. Unfortunately, I found a bug in my food partway through the meal. The staff were polite when I notified them, but this is something that definitely shouldn’t happen, and it completely ruined the experience for me. I hope the restaurant takes this seriously and improves their quality control moving forward.
