Based on the reviews, Ban Bu Xian Szechuan Cuisine Downtown is a rare and authentic gem that serves some of the best Sichuan food in Vancouver. The food is super flavourful, with spicy and numbing levels that are very spicy, even at "little spicy." The portions are very generous, and the price, while expensive, is well worth it. This place truly makes Vancouver more special, offering amazing comfort food that never disappoints. The staff are friendly and professional, with the warmest service. One server, Candy, was patient and kind, making recommendations and adjusting spice levels. Dishes like the pork & pickled veg noodle soup, chili beef with celery (swapped to cabbage), stir-fried bullfrog, and spicy and mala basa are highlights. A free pickled radish appetizer is also offered. The only downside is that service can be hard to get attention from, as orders are placed through an app.
