Came here for a first date and the guy was a -10/10 (unmatched me on the spot for not stroking his ego lol). But the bar is a total 10/10. I was ogling the gorgeous interior and watching the drinks and food passing by rather than focusing on him since he was talking about himself the entire time. The atmosphere and the cocktails are great! Definitely worth a visit, even if your date is a bust.

I stumbled into Bartholomew in search of a quick drink and a small snack… and accidentally discovered one of my new favourite bars!
The space is cosy and beautifully designed — the kind of place where you plan to stay for one and somehow lose track of time. I started with their clarified cocktail, the Shirnin Yoku, which was silky, herbaceous, and dangerously easy to drink. It felt light and elegant, yet packed with flavour — basically the overachiever of cocktails.
The Pan con tomate was the perfect companion: it struck the perfect balance of sweet, savoury and a touch of spice. exactly what I didn’t know I was craving. And then came the real plot twist — the bone marrow crème brûlée. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it absolutely exceeded expectations. Rich, indulgent, and just the right amount of dramatic flair. Who knew bone marrow could wear a dessert crown so confidently?
On top of all that, the service was top notch. The staff were warm, friendly, and genuinely welcoming — the kind of people who make you feel like a regular even on your first visit.
Safe to say I’ll be back soon (strictly for research purposes) to work my way through more of their creative cocktails and dishes. Highly recommend!

Absolutely rude, the white guy with the comb over and the moustache is completely rude, asked us 3 times how many of us were sitting (while we were all standing there), and then wouldn’t let my friends (who had valid IDs) sit and order drinks while I run quickly to my apartment 1 block up to grab my identification. What is this treatment?!?! As a Yaletown resident this is absolutely disappointing service too see in a such a nice bar so close to where I live. Sad… I expect someone to respond to this

We had a great time in this cozy and sophisticated bar. Service was excellent and we really enjoyed the fine food (cheese & charcuterie), you can tell these are the real deal imported from Europe! The cocktails are very intricate - although some of us didn’t like ours, we could definitely appreciate the work and subtleties behind them. Well done team!

Amazing cocktails no doubt about it but food needs a bit more attention. Server forgot a couple of orders and I had to looked for her and asked more than twice for my order. It was a Sunday night with a very easy/slow flow. Her attitude and energy were off and seems like she was upset of working that night. Maybe she is just there for the hrs and not for a true hospitality experience.

If you’re visiting Vancouver do yourself a favour and avoid this place. Their “manager” was probably one of the worst manager I’ve ever seen. He was rude, obnoxious, loud and belligerent. I will never go back to this place nor will I ever recommend it to anyone! Safe yourself and your money, go anywhere else! And I’m sorry? The price they charges for their subpar cocktails and their food portion has to be a joke. SAVE YOURSELF AND YOUR MONEY.

Came here for their DineOut promotion. $49 for a starter, main, and dessert. Had the salmon with beets to start, gnocchi, then carrot cake. Everything was delicious and presentation was exceptional! Service and vibe were fantastic as well. Caught the last bit of happy hour and tried the pineapple gimlet - delicious.

The food and ambiance were amazing! We loved our server, vibes and the porchetta main was excellent.
Unfortunately, the service at the door was shockingly bad.
The host was openly rude and condescending, immediately giving us attitude for showing our reservation on a phone and complaining that the screen was “too bright.” Instead of a simple welcome, we were made to feel like an inconvenience.
It was an incredibly unprofessional first impression and set a negative tone that never fully recovered. No guest should be treated that way upon arrival.

Good service and good drinks, definitely one of the better old fashioneds I've had in Vancouver. Delicious creme brulee. Food overall was really good including the lamb shank. A bit on the noisier side, but ambiance is nice.

Drove all the way out from the valley for a nice evening out with my friend, planned and reserved well ahead. As we got downtown, there was unexpected traffic jams. Out of courtesy, I called to let them know we were running behind though nearly there and instead found myself chastised by the guy who answered the phone. Unacceptable and ruined the whole tone of the night. The server was lovely and atmosphere nice but I’m afraid I won’t be back. Also was fairly pricy for standard fare, outside of the great cocktails.
