My absolute favourite bar in Vancouver for cocktails. They are intriguing and unique, sure to delight any palette. Service was always fast and friendly. I found the food a bit over priced for what it is but it’s still delicious!

They have so many unique cocktails to choose from! I obviously ended up getting a mezcal-based drink, and it was smoky, smooth, and beautifully golden. I asked for no cherry, but it came with one anyway. I went with it because its flavour wasn’t strong. Not sure if the server was busy or just a bit impatient while we ordered, but oh well. I’ll definitely be back to try something new!

Food was OK, cocktails are premade. for whatever reason my server just didnt pay attention to me. For 5pm to 6pm on Monday, laughable. If youre serious about cocktails, take a pass.
The food was insanely good. I would go just for the food, but the coctails were good too!

Great cocktail bar! We popped in for a few drinks after dinner nearby and really enjoyed both the cocktails and the relaxed atmosphere. Would definitely stop by again.

I love the atmosphere of this place.
The cocktails are lovely room is lovely.
What I will say as a 30 year Vancouverite is that the 2 hour time limit and the way it is “enforced” is odd….
I work in the area and each time I’ve been we’ve been reminded about the time limit more than once .
We have had food , multiple drinks etc - but to have them come and say “if you want another drink you have to order because you’re going to have to leave you have 20 minutes left.”
Each time - we choose to leave.
Not into being hustled into another beverage and being told to leave at the same time.
We were sitting at the bar having a lovely time eating and drinking
There were empty tables
No line up
Creating that whole “scarcity mentality” …if that’s what you’re going for?
Isn’t kicking your patrons out who are spending money.
If there was a lineup at the door maybe - but there wasn’t.
Makes me do the squinty thing with 1 eye now every time someone suggest we go there.
I’ve even gone in for a drink at the bar when it’s been empty and I was reminded …. It feels weird and awkward. The last thing you want to feel on a night out or when you’re in the middle of a conversation.
Honestly if you wanted to enforce it in a classier way you could put little plaques up at the bar and tables stating-
“thank you for choosing us, please be mindful of our 2 hour time limit for each party ”
Being reminded more than 1 time or being told times up -serves the ick.

Cool spot but very tight, loud and crowded!
I'm a regular here but doubt if I visit anytime soon again - quality of food are not as good and very very pricey for the quality you get! drinks are becoming hit and miss.

Not too crazy about the new Old Fashioned menu... The old France one was markedly better and Mumbai is just puzzling. No sweetness to it at all, had to ask for simple syrup which made it tolerable. Please bring back the old menu!
Edit: seems most of the bartenders left, new drinks aren't to my taste, can't make old/previous cocktails anymore nor make custom cocktails.

The food is underrated! Would definitely recommend the bar seat so you are able to see the chefs work their craft. The Porchetta, Crème Brûlée and the meatballs are a must try. The Momotaro is a great refreshing cocktail that pairs well with the food.

Exceptional food, Alex truly takes pride in his work and it reflects in his dishes. The porchetta was incredibly tender and flavorful.

Bartholomew Bar is one of my favorite places to go for a drink when I'm visiting Vancouver. As much as I would like to gatekeep this place (cause it does get very busy), everyone deserves to know about this gem.
