Best gelateria in Vancouver! Tastes like the good ones from Italy

For dessert connoisseurs who don't mind doling out the dough for sweet treats, Bella Gelato is the place to go.

Let's break this down, shall we? $8 for a single scoop of ice cream in a cup, but if you want that in a cone, you’ll have to tack on another dollar. And if you're looking to walk on the wild side and grab a gluten-free cone or a charcoal cone, throw on another $0.25

It's just so exorbitant when you consider the fact that you can literally buy a tub of ice cream for the same price. No doubt, this is quality scrumptious ice cream that Bella is hocking, but still. It's practically a luxury item in this day and age where price gouging has become the new norm.

I always order the cup, and what I've found is that they are way more generous in the amount of ice cream they heap onto a cone. There's a more artistic flair when they're scooping it onto a cone and trying to make sure that none of it falls off. And then there's the tennis ball sized scoop of ice cream that they drop into my cup, so simple that they could do it with their eyes closed. I understand you're paying more for the cone, but the discrepancy in quantity is concerning when you consider that there's only $1 difference.

Bella also offers up Italian pastries, for those of you seeking something more substantial. Here, at least, the pastries are slightly cheaper than most of the Robson Bakeries but look just as captivating. And, more importantly, taste just as good.

If you're looking to satisfy your sugar cravings, Bella is a decent option. If you're more after bang for your buck, you'll find your tub of ice cream heaven in 8 minutes if you keep walking down Robson to Safeway.

I love the gelato so I took a 400 ml pint home. Unfortunately the next day when I attempted to open the lid, it broke (since it’s an unfavourable material, although it’s eco friendly) causing quite the inconvenience. Paper pint containers or any other kind would be so much better!

Great selection of mouth watering gelato. They even have sorbettos made with no dairy. The pear and dark chocolate pairing we ordered today was such a treat.

Black sesame for-the-win!! The whole place is spacious and clean. Service is fast and staff are friendly. Will definitely be back to try their other ice cream flavors! ?

I was trying to buy an ice cream…. Despite it being 11:05am, the place was still closed with no signs of opening or any people around. Sunday morning… I felt quite let down by the situation and so disappointed.

Really delicious gelato able to try three samples before you choose. Bit pricey but like I said it's very good quality and the staff are super friendly. Not a lot of room to sit. I had the gluten-free code and it was a bit dry. I'll be back. I had the chocolate brownie and it was simply amazing their best seller I think.

The brownie gelato was delicious.
The size and price were less desirable.
$8 for a small scoop with tax is almost $10
As you can see in the photo how small the scoop was.
It was like a kids size at most other gelato places.
Half the size of a pen.
The service was awkward.
No smile.
No hello.
Although what I tried was great I probably won’t come back.

Good ice cream but a bit pricy. They have huge seating area and a wide variety of flavors. Some very unique flavors such as the pistachio and Saffron one we tried. They also have other desserts as well
