We did the tasting menu with the standard wine pairing. It was incredibly good. Matthew, the sommier, was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. While not cheap, it was worth every penny. If you are looking for a place to impress a date or just want to experiment a bit with great food and wine, this would be an excellent option.
I absolutely enjoyed The Botanist where my producing partner and I took our banker to lunch. Not only the atmosphere is perfect and relaxing for conversations, the three plates we ordered were impressive both in look and taste. We ordered the burrata and steak tartare which were both amazing. We also ordered the grilled squid, which was good, and the halibut which I assumed was tasty as I hadn't tasted it. Wonderful experience. Lovely ambience, attentive wait staff, knowledgeable sommelier, and amazing food. My husband and I had the chef's tasting menu, he the omnivore selection and I the vegetarian. Both were spectacular and well paired with the wine selection. I would come back to Vancouver just for another meal here.
