I’ve usually had Southern Vietnamese pho in the past, and while this isn’t my first time trying Northern-style pho, this visit left the strongest impression so far. It really elevated how I see Northern pho. The broth was fresh and light, and you can actually taste the different vegetables and herbs—it’s unique and very refreshing. It doesn’t even need chili or hoisin sauce to enhance the flavor.

The restaurant itself is small and simply decorated, but it feels authentic and cozy. Most of the customers looked like local neighbors stopping by, which gave it a very genuine, community feel.

Passed by the street and noticed several pho spots, but this one caught my eye, so I decided to give it a try. Friendly staff, spotless space, and a steaming bowl of rare beef pho that hit the spot. Portions are generous, and you even get a complimentary tea when dining in, which is such a nice touch.

I tried so you don't have to
The absolute worst Bun Dau Mam Tom in town. Probably the worst I have ever had. Period.

My serving was missing all of the main components to call it Bun Dau Mam Tom: the green rice and pork nuggets, boiled pork, cucumber, mint, cilantro... instead I got the bun bo hue noodles, boiled intestine, lettuce and bean sprouts. At this point I may call it Bun Dau Long Heo. It was just wrong. Even the chili and lime look like they are 3 days old.

It was not what I expected, absolute hideous! totally not worth 20 bucks. If you can not make it right then just take it off the menu.

The lòng dồi was the best. I don’t often see them in other stores but this restaurant have it. The soup was perfectly made. Will come again!

The vintage sidewalk-café exterior pulled me in, but the meal fell flat. I ordered the Bún Riêu and got a bowl that was 80 % thin broth, light on flavor and even lighter on meat—more bland than balanced. Service was friendly enough, though the server spent a bit too much time on a laptop to notice customers needing refills.

I love the nostalgic vibe, but the kitchen needs a richer broth and a better meat-to-broth ratio, and the floor staff could stay a touch more attentive. Until then, I’ll give other spots a try.

The server just rudely threw the tea cup on the table and splashed the water on the table. Food was not outstanding, vermicelli soup portion will not fill your stomach. Authentic food 🥝 with strong unpleasant smell if you are not familiar with the cuisine.

Classic Northern vibes and flavors. We had two bowls of Bun Cha Ca, an order of spring rolls and two iced coffees. Everything goes hard as ever. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you really can't go wrong in this part of the city.

Best Pho in Vancouver. If you are looking for a clear light authentic Vietnamese Pho here is the place to go!

I don’t understand why this place isn’t packed. Definitely not your fancy place but definitely like your mom’s kitchen. Friendly people, quiet atmosphere food served quickly. Soups are amazing. Take your pick you won’t be disappointed. Very reasonable price and definitely hit the spot. Was worth the 30 min drive.

. I really enjoyed the Steamed Pork & Mushroom Rice Roll with Pork Patty and fish cakes. The Vermicelli in tomato soup with fish cakes (and crab) was also good. I like the fish cake texture and taste more than the crab. The Pho with rare beef well-done beef & beef balls was pretty good. The noodles are thicker than we are used to. The soup is lighter than we are used to as well.

. Friendly service with cold and/or hot tea available.

. There were only a couple of other customers.

There was hair in every single dish we ordered. We had to walk out after mentioning it as we could not believe it. From the bean sprouts, fish sauce, first main dish, it was almost impressive to have it be that consistent.
