The atmosphere and food at this cafe were both good. Service could use improvement though. The waitress not failed to give our party of four a menu when we asked (told us to use the QR code instead, but had no issue in giving a neighbouring table some menus?). She hardly ever checked in on us and so we had to wait next to an hour to simply request the bill.

Good breakfast and if you get there before 10am you can get the early bird special, two eggs, protein of your choice, hash browns and toast. Also comes with jam and peanut butter packets and coffee refills.Dietary restrictions: They have gluten free toast and offer soy milk for coffee or tea.
Zen Cafe was delicious! I loved the poutine and the two egg Breakfast! It was awesome! The potatoes were the highlight! And I loved the grilled tomatoes more than I expected! Zen Cafe was good and extremely affordable, great option for brunch!

Honestly I went here twice only because Jam Cafe has crazy line up both times. I was not disappointed tho. Both times I been in food was really really satisfying and service was good. They also use Beans around the world coffee here which I love. One thing I had to mention cos I was really impressed about how it was handled, was how I had a mix up with my order, honestly I'm not even sure if it was my or the servers error. I wanted the Pork belly benny but I got the pulled pork benny. Very easily confused but I can't remember if I ordered wrong or my order was just put in wrong however they very gracefully replaced my order no questions asked. And then at the end they didn't even charge me my meal cos they said I had to wait longer. I really appreciated that as lately service in Vancouver hasn't been that great mostly. That was very nice.

Had the Bacon Cheese Burger and Flo-Mushroom Greek Crepe. Burger was fine, nice thick tomatoes but meat was nothing special and I feel like it was lacking flavour, maybe a juicer meat or something other than just mayo and BBQ sauce to compliment the burger would have improved it, not many fries either for $18. The Crepe is exacally as the menu describes I too felt like a sauce could have jazzed it up. Felt like something I could have whipped together at home. Other than that other menu items seemed reasonably priced and other reviews seem to like their value in breakfast. Maybe I'll try breakfast another time?

Passing through Vancouver for a couple days and we came across this place. WOW. I had the Benji + Mushroom Benny and it was by far the best eggs benny I've had in a long time, if not ever. The quality of the food was unmatched and it was the cutest little place close to the beach. I'm already wanting to go back!! You won't want to miss this one.
