Meh food, with high prices and trash service. Feels like they kept trying to upsell you, mind you each dish is at least 25 dollars. So for 2 of us, they basically recommended 4-6 dishes, which is waaay more than you need. Food was mediocre at best, but at its price, not worth it, there are probably better restaurants nearby at similar prices.

Caffé La Tana is a beautifully decorated Italian inspired café that turns into a wine bar at night. The servers are super friendly and well educated in the food. My partner and I can be indecisive once and awhile so our server recommended the French toast, and then we decided on the pasta because we love next door so much. The French toast was absolutely amazing and not overly sweet like most are. We got a couple of coffees as well which at Italian restaurants is a must because of the quality. We plan on coming back here to try the night vibe.

?? Bella Vita at Caffè La Tana! ???Just had a fabulous gathering with friends at Caffè La Tana, and it's a must-share experience! A party of four, we dived into an Italian culinary journey that left us all smiles and satisfied bellies. We kicked off with their Breakfast Sandwich, a morning delight that set a high bar for the rest of our meal. ? The Stracciatella alla Romana was a comforting soup that hugged our taste buds with every spoonful. ? Pure joy in a bowl! The Savio Marinated Olives were a hit, adding a zesty pop to our palette. The Pasta del giorno, featuring Mafaldine and Spaghetti Bottarga, was simply divine, showcasing the chef's daily inspiration with flavors that danced harmoniously on our plates. ? And oh, for a sweet touch, we indulged in Pepino's Mini Tiramisu - a decadent, layered masterpiece that had us scooping up every last bit. ? .Caffè La Tana isn't just a restaurant; it's an experience, blending exquisite flavors, cozy ambiance, and friendly service. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this gem on Commercial Drive is your go-to for a taste of Italy in Vancouver. Can't wait for our next visit! ??

I’ve been to Pepinos next door and it’s always been good! Came in for lunch today and gave their sister restaurant Caffe La Tana a try and it was delicious. On the commercial drive in Vancouver, this place offers an Italian dining menu with fresh pasta and good sauces.Ordered the spaghetti and meatball plate and it was very tasty. The pasta you can taste is homemade, it is similar to what I had in Rome. The sauce was good and the meatball was giant. A lunch dish for 21$ is very reasonable and you sure get your value here.I’ve had the tiramisu here before too and it’s very velvety and soft, and also very delicious and I’d highly recommend it. Came here for lunch, I’d recommend reservations if planning a later lunch, they accept walk ins.The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. Very good pasta and Italian dishes at this spot, worth a visit and will come back again!Dietary restrictions: Allergens list is availableParking: Plenty of parking on commercial drive

Dined at Caffe La Tana for the first time during Dine Out Fest Vancouver 2024. I've ordered food and groceries from them before, especially during the lockdown and have always been really impressed by their products.I've always wanted to eat there but never found the time to go.My first time dining in was lovely. The food is absolutely delicious and the service is great. I ordered a latte at the end of my meal and it was perfect. It even came with a biscotti.Something went wrong with my reservation but they did their best to accommodate me anyway. That's some excellent costumer service right there.I also wanted to try their bombiloni when I was there but was too full.I'll definitely go back!I highly recommend this place.

We went to check out Caffé La Tana today! We were really craving pasta and wanted to try something different than our norm. We’ve also been trying to find a place that is just as good as pasta we’ve had in Windsor, ON. We decided to venture out to Commercial Drive since we never really head out that way. We got to the restaurant and to our surprise, it was a quaint, niche, Italian caffe style restaurant. The decor was beautiful and also they make the pasta on site!We got the following:☕️ Cappuncino with Oat Milk? Tagliolini (Black Truffle, Garlic Fonduta, Parmigiano Reggiano)? Casabrecce (Rabbit Sugo, Pecorino, Crispy Rosemary)? Italian Doughnut (Can’t remember what it was called)Caffé La Tana’s cappuccino was absolutely amazing. I haven’t had a cappuccino that good in so long! The pasta was al dente, super flavourful and filling! It may not look like a lot, but honestly, we walked out of there super stuffed with happy, full bellies. The doughnut was perfect for two to top off our meal. We definitely will be coming back again as we really enjoyed the food and loved it!

Love this place. I don't normally love bread but the house made focaccia is to die for! I brought some home for my boyfriend and he loved it too!We made resos which was really helpful because the place is small. Super cute decor and theme inside. We sat at the bar and got to watch how they make the pasta which was neat.I had one of the special pastas. I can't remember exactly what it was but it had a big serving of stracciatella in the middle. So decadent! Our server was super nice and helped me order the spaghetti to take home for my boyfriend. He had always wanted to try Pepinos and I'm pretty sure this restauran is owned by the same people, because they are right besides one another and are connected inside by a door lol.I will be back!

I rarely find a restaurant that warrants 5 stars for all 3 aspects: food, service, and atmosphere, but La Tana certainly wowed me. We've been back and again everything was spectacular. I agree with a couple of other reviewers in that the portion sizes could be a touch larger, but that is seriously the only minor quibble I can find. And when every other aspect is top notch, I can certainly overlook it.I will definitely return again to this hidden gem of a restaurant in East Van.

Very good, including excellent pasta and a lovely squash and burrata salad. I'd skip the whipped ricotta crostini, but otherwise would reorder everything we tried. I'd happily come back as long as we didn't have to sit in the terrible high-stools. Service was excellent, though the kitchen was slow at times--maybe get rid of the uncomfortable stools that were jammed in to fit 4 more covers; kitchen couldn't seem to handle the volume anyways.

I really like the ambience and the service. It would have been a 5 but I didn't love the food. The pasta was too rich and chewy for meThe coffee was also quite bitter and strong but I enjoyed the almond biscotti that came with itA good coffee date spot !I will be back to try the tiramisu
