I visited this café in Vancouver and unfortunately the experience was very disappointing. The staff were noticeably rude and showed little respect or care in the way they communicated with customers. The place itself looks nice, but the service needs major improvement especially when it comes to how they treat people. I hope they reconsider their approach, because an experience like this doesn’t encourage anyone to come back.

I happened across this place on a fluke. I can’t believe how good this breakfast was. I had the Bacon Benny -Back bacon, poached, eggs, arugula salad, avocado, herbed baked tomato, sweet crunchy waffle and hollandaise sauce. it was incredible. I don’t think I’ve ever had such a good Benny, I followed up with a dessert. I had the Earl Grey Crawford and asked to customize strawberries on top, Again, amazing and delicious. I’ll definitely be back here again, and I recommend it to anyone who loves breakfast.
cheers guys great job 🥰

Canffle is located just off Boundary Road in Vancouver. Parking can be a bit tricky, but overall the area is still fairly easy to access.

My partner and I visited on a Sunday morning around 9am and were the first ones there, so we didn’t have to wait. It does seem like the line gets noticeably longer closer to 10am.

The menu focuses mainly on croissant-waffles. They were decent—nothing bad, but nothing particularly memorable. We ordered the Droffle with scrambled eggs and ham. It was fine, but it felt like it needed more layers of flavour.

We also tried the Very Berry Waffle and upgraded it to mochi waffle, which turned out to be a mistake. We expected a regular waffle topped with mochi pieces, but instead the entire waffle was mochi. It was dense, not chewy, extremely heavy with cream, and had very little fruit. It honestly caught me off guard in a bad way.

I ordered a Mocha and a Flat White as well—both would’ve been nicer if the coffee was stronger. But I didn’t factor this into my rating since it’s more of a brunch spot than a coffee shop.

Service was just okay. For a busy Sunday, I think they could use more staff. They weren’t very attentive—I expected someone to help switch out plates, forks, and knives between savoury and sweet items, but that didn’t happen. The restaurant was busy, but the staff were working quite slowly. For example, we waited at least 10 minutes just to pay. It became obvious that the long line was more due to the staff pace than the actual popularity.

Sooo good!!!
We went for brunch and ordered the Chicken Basil Melts and the Egg Droffle. The pesto flavor on the Chicken Basil Melts was incredibly tasty, and the vinaigrette on the side salad added an extra layer that really elevated the whole dish.
We hesitated a bit with the Egg Droffle because we thought it would just be another croissant with ham and eggs, but we were so wrong! The egg was super flavorful and fluffy, with a subtle spicy touch that made it even better.
The drinks were just as amazing! We had a Mint Ice Cream Coffee — the coffee flavor was rich, and the hint of mint was perfectly balanced. The Iced Matcha Latte was also delicious.

Our server was incredibly sweet and attentive, and we were so happy with how quickly our order was ready.

10/10!

The croffle and the mochi waffle were delicious; had them with the pizza omelet, the beef teriyaki benny, and a cappuccino. All delicious.

Should’ve read the reviews before coming here. The female server was disrespectful and it seems like everybody has brought up the same comment about the same lady

BEWARE OF RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE. My wife and I drove by Canffle and wanted to try but our experience was cut short when the employee was rude to us without us provoking her. If I could give the service a 0 star, I would. Never coming back here again. The female employee with black, tied up wavy hair. Wearing white Nike airforces and has a zit on her forehead, fix her attitude and customer service.

food was great. had the croissant waffle eg salad sandwich. The croissant was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. $20 gave you 2 huge croissant! will definitely come back.
Only cons about this place is its small, so if you go on weekends, expect wait time for table to be long, also long wait times for food to come out.

TL;DR: Every server I interacted with was kind and professional except for one. If you have a RBF or make an expression she doesn’t like, she’ll give you rude service and dismiss you if you try to address her behaviour. Rather than approaching the table to speak respectfully, she shouts across the room with things like, “do you need something?”. Another employee informed me that this particular server has received multiple complaints from various customers and has repeatedly been told she needs retraining. I would honestly appreciate it if the staffs could review the camera footage of “me being angry at her”, like she claimed because that was not the case.

Aside from one rude employee, the food was good. I’d recommend it.

Terrible service from one of the staff on Saturday, June 28th, between 12:45–1:40 PM. Due to loud music, I had to repeatedly ask if any tables were available. The server, with attitude, shouted, “no, we don’t have any tables,” then told me to add my name to the waitlist. When it was time to be seated, instead of approaching me, she yelled across the room, “You, come in.” I was observing her interactions with other customers and when she saw me observing, she yelled across the room, “do you need something?” prompting me to address her rude behavior. She dismissed my concerns, saying, “why do you think that? I didn’t hear you. The music was loud. You were being angry at me. Your face looked angry”. Regardless, that’s no excuse for poor service. After the unproductive exchange, I requested a manager.

Another staff member later approached me and I explained the situation. She was kind, understanding, and mentioned that the original server has a history of being blunt and has received multiple complaints. She also shared that the server has required repeated training on customer service. With ongoing issues and repeated feedback from different customers, perhaps this role isn’t the right fit for her. When I confronted the server, I was calm and respectful; I simply expressed that yelling across the room was inappropriate. Her response that I “looked angry”, was a poor justification for being rude. Instead of acknowledging the issue, she dismissed my concerns. The second staff member offered complimentary drinks (which I declined) and later offered waffles when I went to pay, which I appreciated and accepted.

Every other server, especially the second one who spoke with me, was kind, helpful, and understanding. I genuinely appreciated the service provided by the rest of the team.

Although the issue was addressed while I was still there, I believe this staff member either needs thorough retraining or should be reconsidered for the role. Consistently treating multiple customers with attitude over minor misunderstandings or unintentional gestures is unprofessional and inappropriate.

Amazing food. So good. One of the waitresses had half her Victoria's secret underware showing doesnt seem very appropriate for a restaurant. Nothing on her character im sure, but was kind of surprised to see that kind of attire at a restaurant. The food was amazing though, hands down you need to go here.

I dropped by canffle for a brunch with my toddler and my girlfriend. It was her choice of place and I was glad to come here. The menu is pretty straightforward. It had three I think types of waffles? And the prices weren’t bad. At first I thought a sandwich that I got for 18.75 was really expensive, but there were two sandwiches. With that said, I thought it wasn’t that bad. The croissant/ waffle thing was crunchy outside and soft inside. I forgot what I ordered but the eggs and the sandwich was nicely soft and the sauce had a kick to it. The sauce helped it not be too heavy? I couldn’t need to sandwiches. I brought one home. My toddler had a croffle with berries and he enjoyed it. The cream on it wasn’t too sweet, so that was nice. The only thing was the atmosphere was kind of not so restaurant like? It felt kinda like a takeout spot with very limited seating. Still, I thought the food was pretty decent and the girls working there were very nice. And it wasn’t super pricey either. Next time I feel like having this croissant plus waffle thing, I’ll drop by canffle.
