Wow, I freaking loved Cuchillo! Absolutely amazing atmosphere and vibe, wonderful service and staff… and most importantly, the food was SO GOOD.
We had the tasting menu, and what was so cool is that we had one person with a dairy allergy and then there was me, the vegan — and the cocina (that’s kitchen in Spanish, kids 😉) adjusted the plates for us without skipping a beat.
I’m not drinking at the moment, which was challenging because the spicy margs looked tasty as hell, caramba! I also noticed a super cool party room full of people having fun in the basement when I used the restroom, this restaurant is definitely a great spot for birthdays and would make for a lively date night (especially if you don’t want a super quiet place where your neighbours can hear every word you’re saying).
Looking forward to returning many more times.

Cool place! Was there for a 50th Birthday party in the basement. Great venue, the food was all great and service was top notch. No cheap drinks but to be expected being downtown vancouver. $57 for 3 drinks 2 Ceasars and 1 house special cocktail and tip was already automatically included. Not sure how much was tip and how much was my orders as the receipt given to me was just the payment receipt and not the itemized recepit. All good as we enjoyed ourselves and expected the pricing.

I attended a private event here last weekend and had such a blast. Kristina and Will were able to answer any questions I had regarding what drink to order, food service and even getting subtitles put on a show playing in the room. Great hires! I’ll definitely be coming back to get the full dine in experience.
We asked to do a tasting and every course that came out was incredible. And the cocktails were 👌 Highly recommend!

I hosted a private birthday party for about 40 people and had an amazing experience! Stu helped me coordinate and plan the event and was very responsive and flexible through the whole process. All the guests were very impressed with the event space, food, drinks, and staff! Would highly recommend for a dinner out, or for hosting a larger event!!

Hands down the best Mexican I’ve had. 10/10 would highly recommend Cuchillo if you’re after exceptional service, top-tier food, and very reasonable prices.
We had the Brussels sprout frita, BC grilled Angus skirt steak, turmeric cauliflower frita, and cabeza de puerco. Every dish was unreal.
The head chef Michael was a pleasure, and Stuart, the owner, made us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we walked in. Just really good people who clearly care about what they’re doing.

The tasting menu is the best I've ever experienced. Our hostess, Brenda, tailored Our dining experience to our parties various dietary needs (vegetarian, pescatarian, and carnivore). The fusion offerings are nothing I would have ever ordered on my own. Do yourself a favor, dine here! Also, totally gluten free!
