I had been looking forward to dining at Cuchillo for quite some time, and while most of the dishes truly impressed us, the service left my girlfriend and me with an unpleasant experience.
Our assigned server was noticeably rude, didn’t check in on how we were enjoying our meal, never took a drink order, and overall made us feel unwelcome. Thankfully, two young women on the staff stepped in and were more than happy to assist us throughout the evening. The contrast in service was very noticeable.
What made things even more disappointing was that our original server eventually returned—not to help, but to tell us he needed our table and that we had five minutes to leave. It was Valentine’s Day, but there were plenty of empty tables around us, and we had never been informed of any time limit when seated. The way the situation was handled felt abrupt and unnecessary.
That being said, most of the food was fantastic and showcased some excellent culinary creativity.
Saganaki Taco: A fun and thoughtful twist on fusion cooking. Not too heavy and a great way to start the meal.
Scotch Egg: Easily one of the standout dishes of the night. Beautifully executed, full of flavour, and a must-order.
Lamb: Cooked perfectly, with a gorgeous sear and a wonderfully tender interior. Another highlight.
Skirt Steak Tacos & Pork Belly: These were the only real misses. Both were overwhelmed by very sweet sauces that overpowered the protein rather than complementing it.
Overall, Cuchillo delivered some memorable dishes, but the service experience unfortunately cast a shadow on what could have been an exceptional night. I truly hope this was an off night, because the kitchen is doing some incredible things—service just needs to match it.
Everytime I come downtown, Cuchillo is my go-to place for eats. Stu, Brenda, Christine and all the other staff always make my experience unforgettable!!

Cocktail Drinks had just as much thought put into them as the food.
Try the share six course meal and get a variety of dishes, it's a really good value at $45.
Prices for this level of experience and taste are really reasonable and have me returning without a second thought.
Probably one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. Thanks guys! It shows alot of thought and passion went into every aspect.

The service is incredible and informative with great suggestions
We tried Peruvian scallop 10/10 Free range fired chicken tacos 10/10 Quac and chips 8/10 (average chips) great quac Brussels sprouts 9.5/10 (Some of it was on the crispy/burnt border )
Great alcohol selection we tried Cadillac margarita 9/10 (wasn’t bad but not special) Pina borracha 10/10 Amazing .
Our server Brenda was nice and friendly and is a proud employee of this company. Great job

The Brussels sprouts tasted frozen and air fried.
The drinks were good and cauliflower taco tasted good. Beautiful atmosphere as always. But people come to eat out to get food fresh made food with some service. Tonight was not it

This spot is a little out of the way but definitely worth visiting. We just stopped in on the way to our dinner reservation but the bartender was so nice, had some great recommendations and made one of the best drinks I have ever had.

DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT. Worst service ever experienced, both the food and the service were extremely aweful. The tacos tasted soggy and the fish was smelled bad. We ordered 4 dishes, and had to wait 40+ minutes to get all our food. When we asked the server if our food was almost ready, server A responded in a disrespectful and condescending tone telling us that the food comes one after another and the kitchen was making them, and just told us to wait. There was no apology or acknowledgement of any kind for the extemely long wait(the table beside us came about 20 mins after us and they got the food before we did. Then when we were checking out, server B asked us for payment method, we said credit and just tapped to pay, then realized that the bill got slightly inflated, when asked, he said there is a 2.4% credit card processing fee and the fee was displayed on the machine. However, this is a complete lie as there was no fee mentioned on the tap screen, nor did the server inform us that there was a credit card fee before we paid. Avoid this restaurant at all cost.

Ive been here a few times its always really good. The lamb dish is epic the Angus Skirt steak was too. The baby scallops were tasty. The cocktails pair well with what I had and the Music and Atmosphere downstairs on a Thursday is really fun 😁
