Nothing spectacular, just standard reliable fish soup noodle place. Food comes fast. You will find AC to be non-existent if there are more patrons and if you are having a soup noodle. So during the summer I often have their curry which is pretty good. Curry comes even faster (under 5min) so it's my go to if I am in a rush. All their female servers are very good. They have two long time male server that are efficient if they care about you but often they have an attitude problem. There is a third male long time server called Fai. He's the best - very polite and attentive. He even remembers what I usually eat while the rest of them don't seem to care (not that I expect that either). They do have some new servers recently and they are good so far. They seem to still care about their work.

I recently ate at the Fraser street location and had a good experience. My honger friends and I usually frequent the other Deer Garden Signature in Richmond. Since we were in the heart of little India, we decided to give this location a shot.

Starting at $17.95 you choose your soup, toppings, noodles, and drink.
The laksa broth is my favorite so far. I went with what I knew would suit me.
The spicy peanut broth is also very delicious. Service is very fast and efficient here. Parking is a bit tight. Apparently it use to be free parking on the street. Now the city of Vancouver installed parking meters. And there's a ton of smokers out front lol.

This is the first and most famous fish stock w rice vermicelli noodle. You can choose a large variety of food items into the soup pot besides the basic two from beef , fish slices, tofu, veggies all kinds of meat mushrooms etc. even for soup base you can choose hot spicy , sour, tomato base etc
The restaurant also offers the typical HK style rice dishes and spaghetti dishes, curry base dishes etc their menu is large and most dishes come with a hot drink, cold drinks are extra charge. Door opens at noon till 8 pm. Overall decent food without much MSG or extra spic. Services are efficient and polite, tables are fast turn over so no worries if there is a long queue.

I enjoyed the original fish broth soup with beef tendon and pork liver, also added a boiled egg. Tasty and not too salty. Felt like a nice healthy meal, will be back when im in the area.

Typical HongKong style cafe that specializes on noodles at a combination of any choices. There is a selection of soup with no MSG and ingredients based on clients' preference, completely flexible to accommodate any individual personal choices.

Soooo delicious and truly asian - cash and debit card only. Their halibut is tender and fresh - and it's a true test of how Asian you are - can you remove all the sharps bones from one piece of fish in your mouth and spit it out in one go? They've got the yummy stuff too like pork knuckle and pork intestine. Great to go with friends, and it's the kind of service I like, where hot tea is served immediately when you sit down, and no one asks how your food is.

Deer Garden is your go-to place for big bowls of HK style soup, perfect for curing hang overs and warming you up over rainy days, or refueling you after skiing.

My favorite is their laksa soup base. My sister orders it with thick rice noodles but I prefer mine with egg noodles. Don't make the mistake of ordering too many extra ingredients in the soup, there's plenty of stuff in the bowl with the 2 ingredients you select. My wife though prefers the 'western style rice dishes', which I'm not sure why they're called that because they aren't really western style at all, but fill you up just as well as the soup. Also, if you're craving something deep fried, they use costco fries here which are always so satisfying.

Comfortably seating groups of up to 6. No dress code, so you can wear your comfiest clothes and have your sunglasses on indoors while you scarf down your soul-filling meal. The service and ambience here isn't world class but they're still friendly and it's a busy place full of families usually, so you know you're in good hands of professional soup chefs.

An absolute gem of a Hong Kong-style restaurant! They had some of the most iconic HK noodles and non-soup entrées.

I loved that they could let me choose pork intestines or any other meat topping for my noodle soup. I ordered laksa and I found it perfectly hot and spicy and creamy. The hot milk tea was so delicious and more rich than that at other HK places in Vancouver.

Although we were the last ones there with 5 minutes to go until last call, they let us take our time eating until closing time. However, because they had finished cleaning and were chatting while waiting for us to finish, I felt like I should hurry to be respectful of their time. Next time, I would love to come for lunch and spend more time here. I was told their fish soup is amazing, so that’s what I’ll try next time.

The rice noodles at this restaurant are absolutely delicious, and the service is also very good. However, the portion size is quite small. Even after finishing the drink and the soup, it’s still not enough to feel full. I really hope they can improve the portion size or introduce an option to add more noodles for a small additional charge.
