So I've been ordering from this place for years, and I had an experience today where I will never be giving them another penny of my money.
So recently this store showed up on doordash, and it says 40% off your first two orders. So I placed an order for a medium pizza and a dessert. Within 15 minutes I received an email telling me the order had been cancelled because the restaurant couldn't fulfill my order, and it asked me how I would like my refund. Then within 2 minutes I have DDs call me and the female on the phone asks me why I cancelled my order. I explained that it wasn't me who cancelled, and she asked if I could deal with doordash and reorder. I tell her no I don't want to deal with all that, how about I just pay for the order in cash. To which she says that's fine, I then ask "it was like $26 right?". To which she responds $36, I explain that's definitely not what it said on my end when I placed the order. Then she goes away, and comes back and says $30. To which I say no, I'll pay the exact amount the bill was. Then she puts an absolute rude clown on the phone, this guy is telling me that I cancelled, that because the deal comes from doordash there is nothing he can do and I have to deal with it, that I have to pay the full amount or else, that the order is already on the way(which is a complete lie because it doesn't take less than 15 minutes to make a pizza and the desert, and cook them). I finally explain that I don't work for DD's or Doordash and that I'm not paying a penny more than what I'm supposed to pay. He tells me fine I'm not getting anything.
Then I proceed to speak to Doordash on the phone, and I'm told the restaurant definitely cancelled, then when I ask why would they do that. I'm told probably to get more money out of me, which I can't prove but it's an insane situation. I don't know if this place has gotten new owners, or if someone's extremely incompetent family member was put in charge, but screw them, and I really wish I hadn't spent thousands of dollars at this mickey mouse store over the years. Here's the proof of how they used to be something to be proud of, and them cancelling the order and then trying to scam me for more of my money and time, and the original amount. Please don't give your money to establishments like this that speak to and treat their customers like trash.....

Great food Friendly staff Fairly priced
We've ordered pizza from DD several times now and each time the quality has gone down, down, down. Tonight we ordered a large ham and pineapple with black olives and extra cheese and it's barely palatable. It's not just extra cheese, but extra, extra cheese to the point that the cheese overpowers all the other flavors. Very disappointed and won't be ordering from DD again. They just lost a customer.
My one star review is being generous.

Gluten free base pizza felt like it was served on a cracker. Other than that it’s a very lovely place with good atmosphere.

This family-owned restaurant and grill has been a fixture on West 4th for over 40 years, and it's easy to taste why. The pizzas are generous and tasty, but what we keep coming back for is the chicken souvlaki dinner! Succulent meat skewers with rice and potatoes done just the way we like them, and the best tzatziki sauce around. I always get extra :) Highly recommend!

Walked by after crushing tennis with the boys.
Had to do a double take on the signage outdoors and the ferocious atmosphere / smells inside.
Was greeted by the lovely staff and vibes were perfect for a quick Pizza and Greek lamb meat ball things that were good.
We could tell this was the local watering hole, because a nice man dining by himself couldn’t help but share his life story with us. He complimented each us on our looks while he sipped his Moscow mule.
He almost saw Sidney Crosby score the golden goal in 2010, but he couldn’t get a ticket.
The man stealthily exited the building while continuing the conversation with us.
Amazing experience, would definitely come back to double dd’s.

Heads Up: DD Pizza Will Ghost Your Delivery
I like DD pizza, but after tonight, never again. Two weeks ago, I ordered through their website, and the pizza was great. Fast forward to today: I'm spending time with my parents, we're starving, and we think, "Let's get some pizza!" An hour goes by, and just when we're expecting that delicious delivery, I get a call from DD saying they "don’t deliver downtown."
Wait, what? The worst part is they refuse to believe they've ever delivered here before, despite me literally offering a past order ID as proof (see attached photo).
It's like they just made up a new policy on the fly. So if you're looking for a reliable pizza delivery, I’d look elsewhere unless you enjoy being canceled on at the last minute.

Maybe if you are black and going here for dinning, the experience could be better since they need your money. I’m black and I went there to submit my resume, but the stares I got. Very cold environment. The minute I turned my back I knew my resume was going to be twisted and thrown away. Racist people
Shrinkflation has arrived at DD. We have been ordering takeout pizzas from them for 2-3 years and always order the 14 inch size. The last pie we ordered was 13 inches. Today we ordered a pie and when we picked it up told the waitress about our last order. She replied that they make three sizes: 10, 12 and 14 inch. There was no answer when we assured her that we had measured the pie. Blown off, nice. When we got today's pie home it also measured 13 inches. Yes, these have been inflationary times but why not raise the prices instead of clipping customers? Other reviews indicate that we are not the only ones who have experienced a bad attitude from the staff. DD has lost a regular customer as we will never be back.
