I was looking for a late night snack and found this Japanese Restaurant tucked away in the corner of a plaza on Broadway. I ordered a specialty roll which was delicious and had a great few of the mountains as the sun was setting.

I've been visiting this place occasionally in the late evenings, and I must say it’s fantastic for a casual Asian-Canadian comfort dining experience. The food offers great value, making it an ideal spot to bring your laptop to work or study while trying to resist the temptation to order everything on the happy hour menu. It’s a great place to spend quality time with a close friend or to gather a large group of friends for fun times, sharing memories and rounds of drinks.

I really like Kamei, though their menu has gotten much smaller than before. They still have the classic sushi and sashimi, which is overall good. There are many more aburi dishes now but they are hit or miss. The salmon inferno is consistently good and my go to negitoro roll is fresh and tasty so I'm overall happy but I haven't felt the wow that I used to. Maybe because I don't drink, but they still have excellent drink specials!
