I wish there were more stars to give. The FUNK crew took extra good care of me after I accidentally spilled my coffee on my laptop. 100% my fault. They assisted me promptly; I wanted to clean up my mess and rush to the Apple store.
Whilst I was in the midst of that chaos, one of baristas offered to replace my flat white. She was so thoughtful she put it in a to-go cup.
Talk about kindness!
That intervention right there moved me into a better headspace.
So, if you’re looking for a good cuppa coffee Downtown, please consider FUNK. Whatever type of day you’re having, these wonderful professional will brighten it up.

One of the absolute best coffee spots in town. A shame the North Vancouver House of Funk had closed down - but Squamish is better for it!! I look forward to all the seasonal coffees here; very mindfully crafted.
Love the community feel as well with regular events in the great space they've got. Also recently featured in the new TRON: ARES movie quite a bit hah!

Comfortable and cozy! I think it is a great option for hanging out with one or more friends and for grabbing a bite (no many vegan options though). In my experience, I really enjoyed attending to a small private event hold in their separated area inside the coffee bar.

First impression, very cool looking cafe with study cafe vibes. Ordered an iced hojicha latte from this place to go. As I go to put my lid on the plastic cup they gave it to me in, I found that their lids do not fit their cups. I told the worker but she said that basically how they are. Could not drink with the lid on without leakage. They were also out of straws sadly. Would come back here to eat/drink in, would probably not get anything to go.
The Spicy Chili Dumplings were really tasty, though the portion felt small -- just four pieces for $12.50 plus tax.
I had high hopes for the flat white: the espresso had a nice brightness without being too acidic, but the milk was poorly steamed :(

I’m surprised there aren’t any reviews about the dumplings. It looks like FUNK has been offering dumplings on the menu for a while.
I got the spicy chili dumplings as everything about them sounded so amazing. I was dismayed there were only 4 dumplings and a little wood ear salad, a little too pricey at $12.60 incl. tax, but the taste made up for it. I was happy that the dumplings were juicy and cooked well. I have never had mushroom dumplings specifically, so these were a delightful surprise. However, I would say that they’re not spicy despite the name, but I’m Korean, so take that as you will.
This coffee bar used to be a Bank of China branch, and I was really pleased by how they were able to transform the space. There’s a lot of seating and they made good use of the interior layout. There’s even a photo booth.
I would probably come back to try their pastries.
