We got
Fried mozza + calamri to start

I got saffron pasta, my wife got the vongole.

Patio is charming and really nice. Food is great. Price isn't too outrageous and service was good.

I recently went back to il Giardino for the first time in a number of years. Back in the day this was a superb restaurant. The atmosphere has always been exceptional. It's warm and not exceptionally noisy so you can easily have a conversation with your friends. However, I was rather disappointed with the food. While it was decent it was not up to standard I was expecting particularly for the prices they charge. $74 for a relatively bland halibut special was very disappointing.

On the service side of things our server was decent but she certainly didn't do anything other than take our orders and refill our water. With respect to the water we were asked whether we wanted sparking or flat. We told her we just wanted flat. We didn't learn until we received the bill that they were serving us Evian water. This surprised me. We're not even sure if they served us Evian water as we never saw them pour from an Evan bottle: i politely asked if this was a mistake on the bill but they insisted that we ordered Evian water. While it was only $9 on a $240 bill these kinds of things really irritate me. I left feeling taken advantage of

This used to be my family and my favourite go to restaurant in Vancouver for 45 years. I have been away for many years and treated some friends the other night to dinner. We were all VERY disappointed with the food. We ordered 2 salads which were on the small side at $35 and $37 (one was butter lettuce) and 3 pastas to share. The amount of pasta we received was more like an appetiser size and not a dinner size. Prices were in the mid $40 range for pasta. The carbonara was dry and very bland; the linguine and clams had almost no sauce with it and disappointing as well. We sat outside on the patio which was wonderful - staff, ambience etc. were all wonderful. The food in every way was a disappointment. All we did was talk about how disappointing the food was and that none of us will choose the restaurant again if it is food we are interested in. The bill was several hundred dollars and we went home and had a snack.

Beautiful restaurant, very attentive staff and exceptionally fast when it comes to being served. The food was so-so, perhaps I caught them on an off day. I had a chicken stuffed tortellini and my wife had pasta with Clam and fried mozzarella . There wasnt anything spectacular about it, but next time perhaps I'll try something else. HOWEVER, the tiramisu was to die for

I'll let you in on a little secret of mine...

I have a slight crush on this place.
It treats me like a lady should be treated and always wines & dines me. Literally.

I've been here before a few times, but instead of paying attention to details reviewing demands, I enjoyed the moment instead of making mental notes.

I mean what is there to say?

Giardino is the Rolls Royce of Italian Fine Dining. The standard is high on every level, and I mean every level you can think of. The Environment. The Service. The Food. Every Level. I don't want to give away too much here, because I want you to go and be unexpectedly pleasantly surprised as I was.

The Food:
I don't eat Lasagna just anywhere. Stellar Lasagna is very hard to make. It takes patience, attention and of course the right ingredient ratio to preparation.
Considering I enjoyed all their other dishes the previous times, I decided to give it a whirl with their Lasagna dish.
Between the Lasagna and the wine...I don't know what happened. It was like a dance on their immaculate white table cloth reflecting the superb shimmering mood lights.
The Lasagna was spectacular.
Now I know where to go when I crave it.....moving on....

Fried Breaded Mozzarella Di Bufala - Yumm. Could've had two more.

Heart of Baby Romaine Wedges - Exactly how Caesar Salads should be made.

Penne - Nice. Great choice if you're Kosher conscious.

Paccheri Di Gragnano - One of our favourites.

.....and of course I already told you about Mr. Lasagna.

Skip Lunch. Dress Your Best. Sashay In. And Enjoy!
Maybe I'll see you there.

We came here for Birthday celebration. Everything from food, service, atmosphere to location was great. The tiny flaw was that
the risotto could be cooked with little bit more flavor but it still tasted good.
