We love this place. Nothing fancy… good food and nice people.
I recently ordered from this establishment due to a craving for Chinese food, but regrettably, I would rate it 0/10 and discourage anyone from ever going here. The food was unappetizing, smothered in an overwhelming sugary sauce and covered in grease. Worst Chinese food in vancouver .
Oh my goodness! People are so friendly and the food was delicious.
Incredible taste, generous portions, reasonable prices especially in this economy, ample parking nearby. There's literally nothing else you could be doing that would be more rewarding than dining here, at your earliest convenience.
Best Chinese restaurant in Vancouver , and the west coast in general. Cancel your plans and eat here right now. There is nothing more important in your life, than supporting this incredible business.
Alway have a great experience with Ginger & Chili
Absolutely horrible food. As a Chinese Canadian, I extremely dissapointed. I love around the West Point Grey area and wanted to try one of the only chinese food places on 10th Avenue. The atmosphere of the restaurant was not bad with nice decorations and a cool fish tank. However the food was not half as good as the decorations. The main courses were horrible with half steamed vegetables and an extremely low portion of meat. I was incredibly dissapointed and would have not only wanted more meat but also actually pallate pleasing dishes.

Generous portions, good taste to the food which is always ready for pick up. Go to staple on West 10th for over 25 years. Prawns and scallops with mushrooms and cashews is our favourite dish.

TL;DR: I found a one-inch metal wire in my steamed veggies, which I realized while chewing. The restaurant only apologized, explained the wire came from the steam basket , and didn’t even offer a discount for serving dangerous food.

My husband and I went for dinner on October 25th. I ordered steamed veggies and chicken rice, and he ordered ginger beef and noodles. The food tasted good, and we were actually discussing how underrated the place seemed as we ate.
(I usually add both good and bad reviews to places we visit, please see my account.)
But then, while chewing my veggies, I felt something hard. It was a piece of wire! If I’d accidentally swallowed it, I might’ve ended up in the ER or even needed surgery. It was a serious safety issue!
I wanted to share this so others can be aware. The restaurant should definitely check and replace any faulty kitchen equipment. They need to understand how dangerous it is to serve food with metal in it.

Good quantity of tasty food at decent prices. Their take-out service is very efficient. Currently my go-to take-out restaurant. I try to go once a month. Hot & Sour Soup is excellent, veggie spring rolls are a good size but mostly cabbage so not strongly flavoured, but their spicy menu dishes are super.

Very good food and a good variety of dishes. I have been going at least once a week for a very long time. Jenny and Yiva are great at remembering your preferences and know many of the regular patrons by name. Friendly and caring people who always make me feel special.
