One of the standout features of Burgoo is its versatility. Every cook seems to have their own version, sometimes adding a personal twist with ingredients like okra or a splash of bourbon. This flexibility means that no two servings of Burgoo are ever quite the same, yet each retains that comforting, homestyle essence.
The ambiance and service are excellent. The food is good but not especially memorable. I was disappointed in my mussels which were very scarce and not especially large and meaty. Oh well. I think the lamb shank will be my choice on any future visit.

A family lunch today. What amazing service. So friendly, helpful and attentive. I would go back just for the service. As for food I had the French onion soup. It is very impressive looking, however the taste of the broth was bland. I'd like to try the Mac and cheese next time I go back.
