The eggplant oshi we ordered was too loose. All the rice and toppings fell apart everywhere, no matter with chopsticks or hands...

People with allergies beware! We asked for gluten free soy sauce and were charged for each packet. They also were unable to make classics like wakame and spicy tuna rolls with gluten free soy sauce instead of regular. The fish itself was nice but the sushi rice was dry and hard. The service and atmosphere here was acceptable but nothing to call home about. Ultimately the affront of having to pay for GF soy sauce for someone with an allergy turned me off this place entirely

This place never really changes, and I always end up getting the platter. It has its own unique taste that you can’t really find anywhere else. I usually come here when I’m craving that specific flavor of sushi, and it always hits the spot.
I like this location the most.

Folks who eat sushi in Vancouver are spoilt for choice, but part of the fun is to identify places to go that leave a unique dining impression on you. To us, Green Leaf Sushi is one of those places.

In addition to all the standard stuff people come to expect when ordering sushi in this city, the ‘X factor’ at Green Leaf lies in their beautifully adorned platters of Aburi-style sushi (i.e. sushi pressed in small rectangular moulds). It was mesmerising to behold as it arrived at our table and looked delicious from every angle.

For edible art at reasonable prices, we suggest you check Green Leaf Sushi out. The one we went to was in Kitsilano, but there are similar stores in East Van and on the North Shore too.

I visited Green Leaf Sushi on West Broadway during my stay in Vancouver and would definitely go back. The sushi is always fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making the experience even better. The cozy, relaxed vibe adds to the charm. Prices are a bit higher, but the quality and service make it worth it. Highly recommend for a delicious and enjoyable sushi experience.

You should adjust your posted hours to 9:30 p.m., since that’s when the kitchen really closes. I was denied the chance to place an order. Why advertise a 10 p.m. closing time if customers are turned away 30 minutes early? Keep this in mind if you plan to visit this restaurant.

Green Leaf Sushi on West Broadway is a gem in Kitsilano for anyone who loves aburi or oshi-style rolls. The sushi here is always fresh and beautifully presented — every plate looks like it belongs on Instagram. The Salmon Oshi and Aburi Tuna are my personal favorites — perfectly seared, rich in flavor, and melt-in-your-mouth good.
The restaurant itself has a relaxed, cozy vibe with a modern touch. Staff were friendly and attentive, though service can be a bit slow during peak hours (understandable, since it’s a popular spot). Prices are a little on the higher side, but the quality and presentation make it worth it for a nice sushi night out.
Overall, Green Leaf Sushi delivers consistent quality, creative rolls, and a satisfying experience. Not perfect, but easily one of the better sushi places along West Broadway. Highly recommend for anyone looking to try something a little different than your typical sushi spot.
