Memorable things happen every time I go to Elwoods. Which is only twice, but it’s weird that it happened more than once.Anyway, Pele rocks. Y’all should eat here. Y’all should ask Pele about Shakespeare.

Let’s be honest: Elwood’s is a dive. But it’s a good one, with super-affordable prices and quirky, friendly staff. The food was decent, and the happy hour deals were nuts for beer. The decor hasn’t been updated since 1983, and the radio is firmly stuck on 20th-century rock and punk, but that’s part of the charm. Definitely worth a visit!
