I went to Greenhorn with a friend and something happened that I still cannot believe.
We were waiting in line, and people who came after us were seated before us. We simply asked why, just to make sure our names were on the waiting list. There was no loud voice, no bad words, no attitude at all. It was only a calm and genuine question.
The waiter, however, reacted with anger. He handed us menus in an aggressive way and said the food would take 20–30 minutes. When my friend said we would just leave, he grabbed the menus back aggressively. I calmly asked why he was upset and mentioned that I had never had any issue before.
At that point, the manager stepped in. Instead of clarifying, he publicly said in front of everyone: “I remember your face, the first time you came years ago you stayed for hours and didn’t pay your bill.”
I was stunned. What bill is he talking about? If such a thing had ever happened, how could I have come back multiple times afterward, ordering food and coffee with different people and paying each time? To throw out such an accusation, in front of everyone, with no proof, was humiliating and insulting. And then he asked me to leave in front of the whole café.
If there really was a bill, prove it. Show it to me. I would pay it five times over. But instead, he chose to step on my peace, embarrass me publicly, and insult me when I had done absolutely nothing wrong.
Yes, their food is amazing, honestly one of the best brunch spots in Vancouver. But why would anyone insult a guest like this, just to “defend” an employee who was never attacked in the first place? In the end, they only insulted me, and insulted themselves even more.
Delicious food and friendly service. I ordered the bacon Benedict and it did not disappoint. Definitely recommend coming here. 9.5/10

Benedict eggs and no uniformz.
Great place! We came here for breakfast / brunch and everything here was awesome. The food, the vibe, the service: all really lovely.
My partner needs gluten free and their gf options were great (inc the bread which is not always the case!).
A tucked away gem.

Enjoyed a Saturday morning breakfast here with 2 friends. We didn't have to wait and we had a nice table outside. We all had some version of avocado on bread, and they had good GF options for my celiac friend.

Delicious brunch with great service. The only problem is because they have an open kitchen all of the dishwashers and staff conversations happening behind the counter make it really difficult to hear and communicate with your friends. But the food really is great!

It’s $5 for a cup of coffee and no free refills. Service isn’t very good. Our waiter had way too much attitude - asked for butter for our toast (as it came dry) and he said “well usually other people just put their eggs on their toast” … very rude to speak to customers like that. It’s a cute restaurant with decent overpriced food but won’t be going back again.

This place is a gem. We came through for breakfast while in Vancouver and left stuffed and impressed. We got the croque madame, ham benedict and a waffle. The ham was delicious and blew me away. The waffle was smaller which was great as we shared it just to end the meal with a little sweetness. The coffee was also a standout.
We arrived before the line was too long, maybe around 9-9:30 on a Saturday and maybe waited 10 minutes. Perhaps we were lucky. They also still had outdoor seating. A lot of folks came through foe takeout.
Charming and popular place, would definitely come back for more.

Good local spot.
Coffee: sour variety (not a fan, but hard to find good coffee in Vancouver, save Ancor by the Waterfront).
Food: Really well done, enjoy. Get the ham hocks.
Hot sauce: May as well not ask, you can get as much heat from sucking on a rock.
Service: Really nice people working here, treat them well.
Note: The sign outside would have you believe that standing around outside is worth your while - it's not. Go inside to get on the wait list.

Love this cafe. The Benny was very good (if you don’t like a biscuit they are on a biscuit). The iced mocha was ok but I wouldn’t recommend it. Get a hot drink they looked very good. Cute street seating and a very cute inside.

One of my favourite spot to go for breakfast ❤️ Bennys are really good, I wish there was more salad and would be even better if it was in the offer. Usually need to wait for some time to be seated. I don't think I ever finished my meal.
