Very disappointing experience at H Tasting Lounge this past summer (specifically on July 27th). We had a reservation and called ahead to let them know we were celebrating my sister’s birthday. We brought our own cake and were told it could be kept in the fridge while we ate.
When it was time, our server brought the cake out and left it on the table. We then had to clear our own small table and place dishes on a nearby shelf just so the cake would fit. When I asked if the candles could be lit, the server returned with a torch, saying they didn’t have a lighter!! In the process, the entire top layer of the cake melted.
Before leaving, we also asked if she could take a photo of us. She said she would come back in a minute, but after waiting about 15 minutes, she never returned. I ended up setting my phone on a timer to get a poor selfie.
Shortly after, we were rushed out because they were closing. For a restaurant of this caliber, this experience shocking. After reading other reviews, I also learned they usually offer a complimentary dessert and candle for birthday celebrations, neither of which we received.
This experience fell far below expectations for my sister's birthday. We won’t be returning.
Don't expect to show up at the hotel without a reservation and find a seat to eat without a long wait! The prices are high, but the service is friendly and attentive, and the food is great! I appreciated the non-alcohol drink choices as well, though the house cocktails were great also!

Our waitress was unfriendly, rude, patronizing and passive aggressive for the entire duration of our dinner. We came into celebrate a birthday. She didn’t smile once, didn’t say happy birthday. When we asked for recommendations she said things such as “I don’t know what to tell you,” and “it’s on the menu for a reason.” Told us we couldn’t have too much booze on the table. We had only 3 drinks for 4 people and wanted to order one more Christmas drink (was supposedly for 2 people but wasn’t very large). These are just examples, as countless uncomfortable moments happened. In the end we didn’t order dessert as we just wanted to leave. On our way out one of us tried to talk to a hostess who was going to get a manager but our waitress ran up and essentially stopped us. She even followed us to the washroom outside of the establishment to “grab a paper towel.” The whole event was anxiety inducing and very uncomfortable. I recommend you go absolutely anywhere else. Especially for what’s meant to be a joyous occasion.

Winterlust domes are a fun and cool dining experience! We pre-ordered the 'Thor's Hammer' dish, a magnificent display, melt off the bone tender, nice variety of roasted veggies, interesting flavours, top tier gravy. Easily serves 4 hungry adults. Pricey but totally worth it!
Oysters were perfect. Fresh, expert shallot mignonette, fresh horseradish...never had better.
Best hummus I ever had, hands down.
Excellent wine selection, knowledgeable sommelier helped us select the right wine for our meal, tastes, and budget.
Special thanks to Kat for helping us enjoy our Thor's Hammer with some 'extra' flame, and thanks Zach for leaping into action to our table ready to extinguish if things got too hot!

My friend and I went for my birthday to the Festive Tea at the Westin Bayshore and we were absolutely delighted.
The serve was impressive and the high tea was wonderful. I loved the beautiful tea serve with delicate pale blue flowers and butterflies. The napkins folded into the shape of fir trees was a work of art.
I will be coming back next year. Loved it.
I took my mother here for high tea service. It was a wonderful experience overall. The food was great, the service was stellar. I'll definitely be back.

Are you old enough to remember a time when people going out for a nice meal didn't dress like they were either going to or from the gym for a workout?
Having a dress code wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. Just sayin'...

Angelina was beyond belief! The food was amazing, but seriously – without the service that we had – it just would not have been the same. Beyond belief! She deserves bottles of wine and far more. Incredible service. The only thing that could possibly make it better, my fantasy, would be that if she would be coming as the Christmas elf with ears and all! Thank you for the best experience ever.

I visited this tea house for the first time after hearing so many great things, and it ended up being one of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve ever had. I brought two friends for a special birthday lunch, and I truly regret choosing this place for such an important occasion.
I called beforehand and was told that walk-ins were fine and no reservation was needed. When we arrived around 1:30 PM, there was still a wait. Eventually, we were seated at a high table we didn’t want, but we had no option but to accept it.
We ordered the fettuccine pasta with chicken, and it was honestly terrible. The chicken had a bad smell, and the pasta was undercooked, dry, flavorless, and not creamy at all. It was the worst pasta I’ve ever had. The starters we ordered were also extremely small portions and overpriced.
The service was just as disappointing. Our server never checked on us—not once. She didn’t ask how the food was, didn’t offer additional drinks, and completely ignored our table. When we mentioned the issue with the pasta, the manager came and offered a dessert platter, which we appreciated in the moment.
We ordered tea and coffee, but no dessert arrived. We waited about twenty minutes with no follow-up from anyone. Our drinks got cold before we finally managed to get someone’s attention. By then, the staff shift had changed. The new server and new manager knew nothing about our situation, and no one apologized or even acknowledged the inconvenience. No one said goodbye when we left, either.
When the dessert platter finally came, it was also disappointing. The pastries had poor flavor and odd textures. For a place known for tea and pastries, the quality was shockingly low.
The space itself is also not what you see on Instagram. It’s very small and located right at the entrance of the hotel lobby—not a cozy or elegant tea house atmosphere.
Overall, the food was awful, the service was inattentive, the desserts were low quality, and the entire experience was frustrating and embarrassing—especially since it was meant to be a birthday celebration. I would not recommend this place for anyone looking for good food, good pastries, or a pleasant dining experience.

Angelina (hope I spelt that right girl!) was amazing, so knowledgeable, fun, amd took such great care of us! The only thing that would have made it better is if she was dressed up like a Christmas elf ;) Tiger shrimp were to DIE FOR & everything else was super tasty too. The dome experience in general is also a must try. Super cute vibes & decorations ! Even some snow with the right luck

My sister and I stopped in here after another restaurant not being open due to a holiday staff party. We were so happy we ended up here. Our server was Mel, who was incredibly entertaining and nice. He honestly made our night. The wine was on point and the food was great. We had the octopus skewers and the burger. The patty was honestly one of the best I’ve ever had. The ambience was upbeat and delightful. We sat on cozy seats near the epic Christmas tree. Looking forward to renting out one of the cozy domes at some point.
Just had the coziest, most magical evening at H Tasting Lounge’s Winterlust dome-dining — and I’m still smiling! From the moment we stepped into the heated translucent dome, with soft lighting, comfy faux-fur pillows and blankets, and gentle ocean breezes from Coal Harbour, the vibe was dreamy. The food and drinks were top-tier: beautifully prepared dishes, refined seasonal flavors, and cocktails crafted with real attention to detail. The private dome felt intimate and festive — perfect for dinner with friends or a date night. Service was attentive and every dish arrived plated like a little piece of art, adding to the whole experience. If you want a winter dining night that feels special and luxe (with a hint of fun ✨), Winterlust absolutely delivers. Highly recommend — and yes, I’d happily come back!

We had the most amazing experience dining inside the Winterlust domes at H Tasting Lounge, located at the Westin Bayshore. The atmosphere is cozy, festive, and feels like a little winter escape right in Vancouver.
Service was outstanding — Rayland took great care of us the entire time. We tried a variety of dishes including the Honey Glazed Brioche, Harissa Tiger Prawns, Venison Tonnato Tartare, San Marzano Meatballs, Artichoke Ravioli, and the HTL Burger. Everything was beautifully presented and full of flavour.
The cocktails were excellent as well, especially the Espresso Martini and the Cosmo.
Such a unique and memorable dining experience — definitely worth trying if you’re in Vancouver, especially during the winter season!
