Hachibei Reviews
highly variable; a few dishes are good, overall mediocre. Not easy to do japanese food well. they fail, including the tempura and seaweed salad. the ginger thin sliced beef, served lukewarm, was good reheated but should not have needed to be sent back. kitchen juggling take away and in restaurant customers
service is excellent as well as the food.

Hachibei, under new management, offers Teishoku dishes that are satisfactory for the price. The black cod saikyoyaki teishoku is amazing and flavorful, while the salmon oshi is very tasty. Customers find the meals affordable and believe it offers good value. The sushi and sashimi are fresh, and the karaage and tempura dishes are amazing with light and crispy textures. The portions are generous, and the food is made with care.
The restaurant is staffed with Japanese people, which is a rare find these days. The lunch sets, such as the signature black cod lunch set, provide a delicious and good value meal with attention to details like the kale salad, fried octopus balls, and miso soup. Customers highly recommend the combo boxes, which offer great variety and a lot of food. Overall, Hachibei is a decent choice with room for improvement.
The restaurant is described as a small, intimate, and quaint place that offers a hidden gem experience. The seafood tempura teishoku and the bento box with a variety of side dishes, including giant crispy karaage, are highly praised by customers. The dining environment and restroom are clean and cozy, making it a comfortable place to enjoy the food, especially on a rainy day.
