The very name of this establishment, "Hail Mary," serves as a fitting prelude to the disaster that awaits those unfortunate enough to dine here. Indeed, it seems the moniker was chosen as a desperate plea for success, a plea that, judging by our experience, has gone entirely unanswered.
A simple, courteous request for a glass of water without ice was blatantly ignored. A polite inquiry to change tables to accommodate an additional friend was met with cold indifference. The crowning indignity came when my friend was physically shoved aside, an act so egregious that it left us all in utter disbelief.
The owner, Haley White, took it upon herself to serve our table, though “serve” is far too generous a word. Lacking even the most basic understanding of service, gratitude, or hospitality, she seems more intent on running her restaurant with an iron fist of rudeness and contempt. Needless to say, we will never return, nor will our friends, and we will make it our mission to warn everyone in Vancouver of this catastrophe disguised as a restaurant.

Very disappointing experience. Since I last visited this place a few years ago, I was excited to suggest this place to my friends to grab a drink together. However, we didn’t even get to come inside because we were “greeted” by the most rudest hostess I have ever seen. As we walked in, she asked us to go back outside and wait in the rainy stormy Vancouver weather despite not anyone else standing at the front area. We didn’t say anything and simply stepped outside. That wasn’t all, as we stepped outside, she looked at us and said with the most rudest voice we wouldn’t get a table if we “look like that at her”. We left immediately. We would not tolerate customer service like this. We were not even able to say a single word but got such rude disgusting treatment. I have never been treated like that in Vancouver. I cannot imagine someone would want to go in after such treatment.

Ruined the whole Friday night experience with my girlfriends on our birthday night out. Blond server/hostess told us to wait outside even though the restaurant was empty and we didn’t even say what we want. We just wanted to sit at the bar for a quick drink. We quietly agreed to wait outside in the rain, however she stated” if we look at her like that we would not get seated ” and shut the door in front of us. I have been at this place before but will never come back again and spent a single dollar. I will make sure my friends know about this kind of service in Vancouver.

the hostess at the entrance told us to wait outside when it was pouring rain and the place was empty, we were ok with that but she said “if you gonna look at me like that, I’m not gonna sit you at all” .
The service is horrible, not gonna spend my money and time at such place and people.

Terrible service. Female server with tattoos and dark hair was unfriendly and didn’t check on us what so ever. Won’t come back

If I could rate 0 I would. My friend and I went here on our first day in Vancouver and were told to wait for an available table which is ok but this was but the start of a bad experience. We finally get seated after 30-45 minutes and take a look at the menu, we asked for some shots and were told they had tequila shots available. We asked for a shot each and are told in an incredibly condescending tone that “this is a restaurant” and that “clearly they couldn’t serve just drinks”. We promptly left this “bar” for another with better service. If you are reading this we quite enjoyed the Dublin Calling on Granville st.

Some really great nachos here, and cool vibe :)
Literally the worst service I’ve ever experienced in Vancouver
Came in with my roommates a while ago for a couple of drinks during the week and asked for permission to take photos. The owner was really nice at first and did not really interact with us at all until we paid. My roommate planned on tipping with cash on hand, but before she could do so the server singled her out and made a rude comment about how she “didn’t tip” despite taking “so many pictures”.
Since then I’ve been sure to warn any of my friends who used to go here for the atmosphere about this terrible experience.
DO better!
