She told us to wait outside, we’re two girls in our early twenties. Then we watched her leave the bar and chase a man who looked homeless on to on coming traffic and harassed him down the street.(if I could add a video I would)

Looks like a cool place to go to but I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. The bartender/server is extremely rude and has insane attitude. Obviously from all the negative reviews about their service it wasn’t just my friends and I who had a bad experience. Save your money for literally any other spot!!

I’m not usually the type to leave bad reviews, but I had such horrible service last night I just have to warn others who are thinking of coming here.
The decor in this place is cool enough, and the drinks and food were just alright. I came with two friends for a girls night out and we were shocked by the bad service. My friend ordered a drink she thought she’d like, but when it arrived it was way too strong for any of our tastes. She politely told the bartender she didn’t like her drink and asked if she could have it replaced, which the bartender did after making a snarky comment about how she shouldn’t have ordered straight liquor (it was supposed to be a sweet cocktail). When the bill came she charged her for both of the drinks, and when we asked about it she said she has to charge for both drinks no matter what. That would’ve been fine if she had told us, we would have tried to finish the drink, but she made it sound like she was going to comp the first drink. Then she said any establishment would’ve charged for both which is entirely untrue because I’ve turned back drinks before and never been charged for them at many places.
I ordered a chicken burger which took about 45 minutes to arrive, and we could see it sitting on the window for about 20 minutes of that time. We kept trying to flag down the bartender/server (same person) but it seemed like she was literally dodging our table. Finally my food came and it was barely warm and not at all worth the price or wait time.
We obviously didn’t tip her and she made quite a few snarky comments about it, and we heard her complaining about us under her breath as she went back behind the bar. As we left she said “Bye, I hope you tip your next server.” I told her we would because no other server would be as bad as she was.
Overall, the idea of this place is cute but the horrific service completely ruined the experience. Entirely overpriced for what kind of food you get as well. Not worth it, I would give 0 stars if I could.

Amazing atmosphere all the booths are confessionals, the place is oozing with style. They have the best bathrooms for taking hot selfies.
Great place to take someone on a date.
Drinks are a little pricey but they make very good cocktails
Also remarkably good nachos and good portion size which you wouldn’t expect from such a small bar.
Only critique is the staff can be a little snarky which can be really hit or miss depending on your headspace. Personally I like it but I could see it rubbing someone the wrong way.
Nonetheless worth checking out for the vibes alone (and those nachos im serious)

We walked into the bar just hoping to have a good time — nothing crazy, just relax and enjoy the evening. Suddenly, this woman (who claimed to be the owner) came up to us with an attitude that could freeze fire.
We saw some empty chairs and were about to sit down when she snapped at us, telling us in a rude, almost shouting tone that we had to stand by the door and wait for her to seat us. We did as she said, went back to the door, and stood there awkwardly like lost tourists.
After a moment, she pointed us to the exact same table we had originally chosen — but by then, the energy was completely ruined. Her attitude was so unnecessarily hostile that we decided to leave.
As we stepped outside and stood near the entrance for barely two minutes, she came out furious, yelling at us to leave, saying, “I’m the owner, I can do whatever I want!” She even got aggressive — absolutely unbelievable behavior for someone representing a business.

Some places have nachos that are not layered and by the second bite zero toppings left. These were perfect & I’m glad we took the server’s recommendation for the chicken.

If you require the kind of place that’s super omg nice to you — stick to Milestones. This place has attitude and it’s cool as hell. Excellent decor, VHS videos and the owner is a no BS kind of person. If you are thin skinned, this place might not be for you. We really enjoyed our time here with the atmosphere, artwork, and vibe. We will be back.

The Service was probably the worst I’ve ever gotten in my life , the woman behind the bar was horrible and kept telling me and my friend to hurry up drinking and the when I tried to pay the 2 bills she got mad that there was no tip on the first bill (she brought down 2 pints and didn’t deserve a tip at all) but I tipped for the second one anyway . She was just a horrible person I don’t know how she has a job
I'd like to go here with a friend for dinner on Thursday, the food looks amazing! But the bad reviews scare me. We need to be somewhere at 7pm so I'm not sure that showing up at 5:30pm gives us enough time if they are busy. We are going to pick another restaurant to go to.

I wanted to like this place, and thought it had a cool concept, but unfortunately the customer service does not match the decor. I live in the area, and thought it was nice that there was a seemingly-cool bar just across the street from us, but boy was I disappointed. My boyfriend and I are very nice people, but I can’t tolerate blatant disrespect especially unwarranted. The owner’s behaviour is borderline abusive and shouldn’t be acceptable in any establishment. After reading all of the negative reviews, I noticed a common trend of dissatisfaction in terms of service. I’ve worked in the service industry and usually have a lot of empathy for servers/bartenders if they’re having an off night or are slammed - but this was not the case.
It was a bizarre and uncomfortable experience. I also noticed that the bartender & owner were visibly intoxicated the whole time we were there. Overall, this whole negative experience could have been avoided if we were just shown basic respect and kindness. Some people in positions of power abuse it to be able to inflict harm on others due to their own issues, but who knows what’s going on in this situation.

We could have been returning customers, but I will never be returning and will tell people I know to avoid this bar. There’s so many nice bars in Vancouver and this place is simply not it. You’d be better off going to the Lido a block away - the drinks are great and the staff are so friendly. It seems very cliquey and unwelcoming at Hail Mary’s for everyone but the 1-2 regulars at the bar. If you enjoy paying money to be berated and disrespected, then this is the place for you.
