We were pleasantly surprised by the Ethiopian food – it was absolutely delicious and such a fun experience to eat without cutlery. The family who runs the place is incredibly friendly and welcoming, and our daughters immediately adored Mimi. The prices are very reasonable, especially for a city like Vancouver. If we lived here, we would come every week! Thank you!

Absolutely amazing experience 😍 the injera was perfectly soft and fluffy. And the gluten free version was even better! The Yebeg wot and th vegetarian wots were delectable! The lentil with tomatoes sauce was my favorite 🤤
And the servers were so sweet! They're so attentive and friendly. They gave us scooping spoons to help scoop up the leftovers. Would definitely come back and bringing my friends. More people need to try Ethiopian food!

We were a little indecisive about where to have our Sunday lunch on “the drive”. First we tried a popular pizza place but it was too crowded and noisy. Then we went to another pizza place and wanted to sit on the patio but the umbrella did not adjust to provide us both shade so we ventured up the street to this welcoming, peaceful and quiet oasis. We are never disappointed when we eat here. Very cheerful and friendly lady that runs the restaurant with her helper in the kitchen. Our order arrived surprisingly fast. They eat using their hands scooping up the delicious food with the spongy fermented bread. Relaxing, quiet background music.

I stumbled upon this restaurant on Italian day on the drive. I had lunch here with my family and we sat at their patio outside. They had the dishes set up on a catering container and mains come with rice and veggies.
I had the Yebeg Wot (lamb). The marinate had a bit of spice and comes with sautéed veggies and rice. The lamb is soft and good flavour. My husband had the Awaze Tibs (beef with veggies) comes with rice too. The beef is good flavour too but not as soft as the lamb. The beef is just alright for me.
The staff is really friendly and everyone’s all smiles. Since there’s an event going on, the patio was nice to have a shade and eat there instead of lining up in the heat. It was a great idea that they set up their dishes by the window, more convenient for everyone to see instead of going all the way inside. I went inside too to use the washroom and it was a bit quiet given the event. Overall, I recommend eating here, something different.

I have been here more than once and the food is consistently delicious. Service is very warm, they make you feel like family. The prices are extremely affordable making this place a really good value for the high quality food. I get the vegetarian combination everytime which happens to be vegan. Pictured here is the vegetarian combination and the chefs combination. I definitely recommend Harambe and I will be back.

We've been customers of Harambe for over 20 years and we've always enjoyed the delicious food here - the staff have always been so warm and kind too. We love to travel and always seek out Ethiopian veggie combos wherever we go. Harambe continues to be the best we've ever had. We feel very fortunate that our favourite restaurant in the world is in our home town!

Have been here a few time and went again with friends the other night. Was pleasantly surprised as usual at how great the food and service was. Even a notch higher tonight as the gentleman heard us in n a couple of requests and was happy to oblige with extra spices and some background on them. We had the Vegetarian platter and also the fish. All excellent. Will be back time and again. Love this place

One of my favourite restaurants in the city!! I have brought many of my friends and family here and everyone has raved about it! We usually get the chefs platter that has lots of meat and veggie options that are all delicious. And pair this with a bottle of their honey wine that they make in house!! The food is always good portions, filling, and flavourful and service is quick and good.
