Heirs Pears was such a fantastic spot, especially with their great gluten-free options. Really sad to hear they’ve closed!

Heirs Pears advertises themselves as being 100% gluten-free. As someone who has coeliac disease, I enjoy being able to relax into a food experience that has such a sense of safety. Their food is great from their branches to their baked goods. Location is awesome and it is a pleasant atmosphere. My one complaint is that my friend went to get what she thought was a gluten-free beer. She offered me some and I happened to look at the label, and it was not gluten-free. It was barley-based. If I’d had a sip, I would’ve been sick for up to 36 hours. My question is why would they have a gluten beer when all their advertising says all of their items are gluten-free. Overall, I recommend this place. And I also recommend you check their ingredients just to make sure you will be safe from Gluten.

Food here is delicious, loved having a dedicated gluten free restaurant since I have celiac disease.

But the real star of the show is the CHEF, what a kind and wonderful human. He absolutely had us cracking up! Highly recommend this restaurant, the Chicken Shawarma Sandwich was delicious.

Also, do yourself a favour and get a mocha while you’re there! Thank you for the wonderful meal!

Breakfast was fantastic and the service from Sam was outstanding! I had the smoked salmon omelette with a side salad and gluten free sourdough was delicious for every bite. They serve a local coffee that was very good.

I got to sample a little of a warm fresh blueberry muffin...amazing. I'll definitely try to get back there before leaving at the end of the week.

As someone with a lot of food allergies and gluten free, the staff was kind and so accommodating. I got the veggie omelet and asked for substitutions. The chef came out and asked what else he could add to the omelet which I appreciated, and the food was delicious. The cashier was also so kind and understanding. I’d definitely be back!

The ratings here are misleading, they serve spoilt food.

Hate to write reviews but this one really needed to be done. Went and paid for an order of a sandwich and chicken wings and after sitting for 30 minutes it turned out the food had not even been started. The chef was sitting and talking to someone who had come in and said he didn’t see the ticket… What was more frustrating is the fact that someone who had come in 5 minutes after us had received their food and yet we still sat and waited and were ignored after only getting water…Only when asked how long the food would take to be made, did they realize nothing was started. To top it off, they didn’t refund the correct amount and kept the tip provided before all the service and food.
Can confirm that I’ll never be going here again and wont recommend it to anyone else.

I am allergic to gluten, lactose, onions, garlic and eggs, it’s a terrible combination and makes it difficult to find food when travelling. The wonderful chef found me a selection of amazing, nourishing dishes that I could eat. The best chips I have ever had, tender juicy pork chops and wings with tasty marinated veg, definitely not bland. The man knows how to cook. I wish I could rate more stars.

A nice little place to grab coffee and breakfast. The food was good and wonderful to have gluten-free options. We had the salmon bagel and salmon omelette with extra veggies.
