Owner was fantastic. My girlfriend and I were coming from a local brewery very hungry. Although the kitchen was closed he said no problem I’ll make you food. Wow the food was delicious. Best fried chicken I’ve ever had. Highly recommend anyone to come here!!!

Delicious food with a unique atmosphere. An unpretentious location that focuses on food and service. If you’re looking for an upscale setting there is probably many other places in downtown Vancouver for you. But for great food and friendly service they deliver above and beyond. The 2 rice and 1 noodle bowl dishes we had were packed with flavour and a generous portion size.
Went there based on excellent reviews. Was shortly after lunch on a Thursday. No one was there, saw the one staff member cleaning in the back. She told me chef was gone to get groceries and would be back in about 15 mins. Was willing to wait, asked to see the menu. Was told they didn't have three of the items on a somewhat limited menu. So left. Should have put a closed sign up or something.
I was already in the area and was craving some (vegetarian) Asian food. Holy Chow seemed like the perfect choice. When I arrived, a note was on the door apologizing for a late opening. As I was standing out in the rain, I saw that next door looked like a social services org, and I entered. This turned out to be C'ow Aa housing, and the folks there were kind enough to let me wait inside to stay dry until Holy Chow opened.Once I got into Holy Chow (which is also called Lucky Penny? Confusing), I chose the Sesame Garlic Noodles with the help of the friendly server. That and the Oolong Iced Tea were quite tasty.A few customers arrived and sat at the bar. One of them was extraordinarily loud, and talked (yelled?) about the most controversial political topics. I was hoping the server/bartender could find a way to calm him down, but it didn't happen.I ordered the vegan spring rolls after the noodles, and they were quite delicious. I paid for my bill, and a man who I assumed was the chef leaned against the bar. I asked him and the server about a recommendation for a place to get dessert. The server was energetic but the chef didn't seem especially interested in engaging with me.Overall:Food was good,Service was good,Environment was a bit painful.

The food is always great! Lots of flavour options to hit my latest food craving! First time actually going inside... I was very comfortable and cozy very quickly. My Cocopuff drink could of helped with that! It was also delicious! I will be back, again and again ?

Food was tasty but the noodles I ordered were $20 and not very filling. I feel like for a few more cents worth of ingredients they could have made it a solid meal. Instead I left hungry.
This place was absolutely amazing. From the esthetics, to the chill hip hop that plays in the background to AMAZING hospitality our server Fina provided, I was floored.Fina gave great recommendations on food and it sure did not disappoint. We had the spicy and sweet Korean fried chicken, pork and cabbage dumplings for apps and for our entrees we had the soy pork with noodles and the lemongrass chicken and rice. This is a must visit on your list whenever in Vancouver!Shoutout to Fina for the great hospitality, for the delicious food recommendations and for the suggestions for dessert onward.

This place is excellent! We were staying in Vancouver for a few days and found this on Google Maps with good reviews so thought we'd try it. And it was amazing! The food was delicious, the service was great and the atmosphere was calm. We didn't book, we just walked in.I had the vegetable chop suey and my husband had the Sesame garlic noodles. We also had the Maple Soy Glazed Brussel Sprouts and Parmesan and some spring rolls. The Brussel sprouts were the best! The food here was absolutely delicious.
Vegetarian options: Good veggie and vegan options!

I got the braised pork, and it was amazing. Flavourful with complex notes and extremely tender. It comes with a tea egg which is cold and plain to contrast the warm and flavourful pork. The noodles were not impressive, but contributed to the experience.

Highly recommend the Korean Fired Chicken 10 out of 10! The seasoning of the noodle dishes are a bit too sweet for us. But great place to grab lunch, will return to try out the bar at night!

Little hole in the wall that my mom and I checked out during our trip to Vancouver. Delicious food. The dumplings are just chefs kiss. Had the lemongrass chicken over noodles and it did not disappoint. It was bright, fresh, and filling. The staff are kind and cool. Definitely recommend!!

Seat yourselves and be amazed with the noodle bowls! We started with pork and chive dumplings before moving onto our bowls. I ordered the soy garlic pork over noodles and they were SOOOO yummy! The blend of all the flavours in the dish were mouthwatering. Oh, and the music was perfect for the restaurant’s vibe - playing lots of old school hip hop. We will definitely come again!
