My friends and I come here often and the service is always fantastic! The food is yummy, we particularly like the lunch sets as they feel well balanced. We came here for our friends birthday as well and got some free dishes and dessert for his birthday. They also have a nice point system that keeps you coming back haha. Thank you to the servers for providing a wonderful experience each time :)

overpriced for very small portions. Every platter is suitable portion for a toddler and cut up in sizes for one. Like tapas but without the quality or art. Nothing was bad just very avg and not matching the price.A place that tries too hard to come off fancy and got confused between the fun/ casual concept of ugrill with the expense/ luxury of tapas or fine dining portions, clashing concepts with one destroying the other. Portions are tapas sized but doesnt have the quality for that neither in what they served on the menu, quality of the dishes made, nor the atmosphere. You can't do fine dining /tapas with ugrill. The customers who enjoy one wouldn't enjoy the other. Much preferred gyu for a ugrill fun experience which had way more customers. Never seen the place so empty before. Eating here is like hiring someone who lied on their resume? Some misleading advertising with the sake and icecream where they display a bottle but give you a teaspoon of sake and charge $7 for that and a small scope of ice cream. It was so ridiculously underwhelming it was hilarious when it arrived. They need to redo the photo for this lol.The mochi which was supposed to be warm has icecream dumped right on top so by the time you ate the middle it got hard and rubbery from the cold icecream. Ruined the mochi while melting my icecream... I ate it within 5-7mins of its arrival. If you can serve a dish that ruins itself then the resto cannot deliver a quality that justifies this price. The sauces are very lacking as well. Nothing at all special about it. Same sauces over and over and $4 for 4 small pieces of lettuce and a tablespoon of sauce. We ordered about 9 items to get a good variety to sample. All avg and less variety than gyu. They also seat you next to other full tables even if the place is empty (3-4 tables total). My entire dinner and the one behind us were completely disturbed by someone super annoying (drawling about being how good she looked in past pictures and being engaged with someone she didn't love probably because he had too much depth for her superficial pretend in having taste?) Despite of this they continued to seat more people nearby so no one could have any peace. It may be efficient for staff but no consideration for enjoyment of customers. Digital menu is immovable and placed dead center and very small and uncomfortably awkward to use.Thankfully we only paid 1 hr of parking because we were quite eager to leave. The parking is plenty probably because the restaurant is rather empty. So no problem finding close parking if you don't mind the cost.Staff were wonderfully helpful and attentive (and outnumbered the customers) so it was lovely to get such courteous service so easily in what used to be a jam-packed place.

we thought we'd try this out tonight. It was good! really enjoyed the the bbq meats. I would recommend however you ask for food allergies. Our salad was covered in nuts (no one asked if we had a nut allergy). When we asked about the rice options we clearly said we couldn't do the garlic rice because my husband is allergic to eggs yet no one mentioned anything about eggs being on the Chicken Karage we ordered. Just a suggestion for yours and you customer safety's.

WOW! The service was so amazing here, they were so caring and offered us lots of advice on how to order (since it was my first time having japanese BBQ). When they found out it was my birthday they gave me a free dish and a birthday dessert! I was blown away. I would recommend this place to anyone!

Service was great! We asked the waitress for a larger table and she quickly accommodated us. Menu was extensive & waitress explained our best options & specials, which was much appreciated. We ordered the 4 people dinner Course Menu. Lotsa foods and you definitely won't go home hungry!

Had lunch with two girlfriends and we allLoved our choices. Good value, excellent quality of proteins, fresh kimchi and pickle, nice servers with good tips on how long to cook the different cuts. Allergy friendly and fun. Miso soup was above average and the side salad very fresh with a light lemon dressing, nicer than the traditional miso dressing that can be too sweet and heavy. Highly recommend this as a fun place to catch up with friends!

I would give this 6 stars if I could!! Not only is the service absolutely amazing (thank you the lady with the tattoos who's served us today at 5:45!) But the food was so bomb. We got the 2 person course which was so filling and worth $50 for per person. We also went on Monday for the all day happy hour drinks. The yuzu beer is so refreshing. All of the flavours here are unique and reminded me a lot of Asia. So delicious. I cannot believe this place isn't jam packed. I will be telling all my friends and family to eat here until it is.

First time here after the changeover from Gyu-Kaku. Definitely a different vibe now compared to before. The offerings are meant to be more elevated with a wider range of selection of meats with higher quality cuts. I have to say I enjoyed the dinner overall. The service was good, attentive staff who were able to answer questions and took the time to recommend some items and receive feedback about our experience. Out of all the items we we ordered, we did not like the ribeye steak. The colouring was off (dark rather than bright red) and the flavour and texture was not great. I understand that sometimes fresh meat or ingredients are difficult to come by but as we had other meat courses, we did not experience this issue. We brought this up to the staff who said they would pass it on to the back kitchen. I hope that they are able to improve the offerings as I see this business model can be sustainable once the new transit is complete.

Came here for dinner with the family. Awesome staff - explained everything clearly and really friendly. The two person course was plenty of food for us (two adults and a child), which the staff recommended and they did not try to upsell. BBQing your own meats made it super fun, and there were a few unique items too. Would come again for sure.

Good variety of the food choices. The server Arisa provided the best service with her beautiful smile. The recommendations for the dishes & drink were just perfect for the night!! We had "course for 2" good variety & good amount! I will definitely come back on my bday for a treat!!

What a pleasant surprise. Not only was our birthday boy's lunch free, the staff offered a birthday dessert and song afterwards as well. Real friendly and exemplary staff that made our day :)

Definitely recommend this place. We got the 2 person set dinner for $50 each and it was so worth it. To be honest, it was too much even? there were so many appetizers which was so good and the meat itself was top quality.
