I have been going to this bakery since my adult kids were very small. She knew my mother well and she was saddened to hear that she passed. Coming up from the US I always hit this bakery, and she always remembers me.

The bakery has been around since my adolescence, probably longer. One of my favourite stops when in the hood 💙 Still cash only, but so worth it. I was finally able to bring my children; I knew that once they set foot in the bakery, the fragrant scent of baked goods, they would enjoy it as much as I did. They sure did, they tried the donuts and cookies. One can never go wrong with their coconut cream buns or pineapple buns. I also like to grab a bag of cinnamon rolls or raisin butter tarts for the fam.

Have to say! the online reviews of its good about Hong Hong Bakery! Its true myself. I tried it myself. I have to say i bought quite few items ( gone back after leaving ) and got few more items. So good i did not bother taking pics and posting it. First bought the Bbq pork baked bun, Regular Pineapple bun ( round ) another one which is called Coconut Pineapple bun ( oval ) shape has buttered coconut fillings inside ), Wintermelon ( which is called HK term ) Wife Cake ( traditional wedding dessert for the wedding, from the Bride side to the Groom Side as a purposal wedding dessert pack ). Follow by the pack of 4 Danish which is for $5.00. Have to say all those came out to be less than $10.00. After consuming the buns ( except danish, wife cake ). I went back again to get the Napolean, Custard Bun. Was attempting to get the other western desserts but i put that to next time. Wanted to try the Lemon Bar. Have to say the Napolean, is flaky and not too creamy or dry or hard as a brick. It was spot on. After trying the Wife Cake at home. Have to say its tender, soft, not too sweet and hard as some Wife Cakes are in Chinatown Bakeries. Do have say its all well baked and amazing. Sad that they dont take cake orders anymore. Due to shortage of staffs and its takes time to consume/decorating etc.. So focus on the buns is good thing. I have to say their prices is amazing low compare to others esp in chinatown. 2nd place of the cheapest Bakery of baked buns goods is ( Zhao Mah Bakery ) on E. Pender St. Also less than $3.00 ( max ) for a regular bun is $2.00 each. Will be back again for more of their pastries baked goods at Hong Hong again.
PS: They also sell fresh baked loaf bread ( only left was ) white loaf $3.00 each. ( Cash only ). Got to support and help the local small businesses in the community! Thank You Hong Hong!

How is this price possible in 2024? Thank you for saving us in this world of inflation. Very good quality Asian buns

Enter and you'll be teleported to early 2000s prices. Bun selection is solid with a selection of Hong Kong staples like coconut bun, pineapple bun, pork cha siu bun and more! They also sell Western baked goods like cookies. Sure there are more famed Hong Kong bakeries like New Town in Chinatown, but Hong Kong Bakery continues to keep prices low while continue to serve the locals with fresh baked goods. Anytime I need egg tarts I call and preorder them here! Thank you Hong Kong Bakery!

I love the nostalgic Cantonese bakery vibe. I arrived at 10:20AM to none Cantonese baked products available. Doughnuts were not ready until around 10:35AM. It was definitely worth the wait. By 10:35, doughnuts were ready and some Cantonese baked goods were available. I bought half a dozen doughnuts, a wife cake, a curry beef bun, a barbeque pork bun, and a coconut bun. The bread was melt-in-your-mouth soft and moist. Definitely a hidden gem!
