Food was average. Our server Michael was good. Very dark in the area we were seated. Hys in Whistler is much better
if your reservation is after 5:00 PM DO NOT PARK IN THE CLOSEST PARKING LOT. IT CLOSES AT 7:00/6:00 PM. We got locked out and so did other guests. We were all waiting outside in the cold. You might be charged for having to call people to open the gate once it's closed, luckily we were not charged. Cheese bread $14.50 - would not order again, can make at home, nothing special Porterhouse 22oz $131.50 good but dry, would still order again Steak tartare $28.95 - would not order again, too much Dijon mustard and too much cornichon Banana foster not worth for $21.50, my fault for not realizing it's just a hot banana with syrup and a scoop of ice cream All drinks minimum $23/+, majority $25/+ Service was good nothing spectacular
The food was amazing as usual however the service we received from Blair truly was top notch! Thank you Hys for making a special father/som dinner an evening to remember!
Chris Q. Was an amazing server - so funny, attentive and knowledgeable. We tried the Berkshire pork and it did not disappoint. Lovely meal overall.
Chris, our server was first rate. And there is nothing quite like an old fashioned steakhouse!
Good as usual. Ribeye at over $100 is robbery but hey I guess that's what restaurants charge these days. It was good. Not mind blowing good at over $100 but good nevertheless. Tableside Caesar's salad is always good. Had the apple crumb dessert. Also good but was hoping for more of a crust at the sides or bottom. It's just a crumble at the top and apples at the bottom. Overall good experience although expensive for what you get. Normal I guess for high end restaurants in Vancouver.
We had great dinner at hys vancouver. We ordered the famous cheese bread, beef carpaccio, and porterhouse. We also got the cheesecake for my birthday dessert. We really enjoyed our dinner. Service was too notch!
One of my favorite restaurants in the city and my absolute favorite steakhouse. Everything from the cheese toast, oysters, steak, wine, service and ambiance is unparalleled. Not my first time and definitely not my last.
The server was very good. We ordered our steak with fries. The fries were absolutely terrible. Poor quality and very greasy. Embarrassing for a restaurant of this quality. Also, restrooms were terrible and restaurant felt dirty overall.

Wasn't too thrilled with Hy's. My wife had medium-rare Filet à la Hy'. I had rack of lamb that was very tough, hard to chew. Definitely did not feel like fine dining and for a price like this I'd expect my meal to be worth it.
Atmosphere was ok, very dark and tons of white guys plastered up on the walls. Felt sort of stuck in time but not in a good way.
Server was pleasant, but I could tell he was a bit offended when I did not care for the history of Hy's and did not want explanations for every dish in the menu.
Fountunatly I had some gift cards and wasn't too upset about my visit. Don't see myself coming back to Hy's again.

My wife and I traveled to Vancouver twenty years ago and ate at Hy’s at the recommendation from the concierge at our hotel and it was a fantastic meal that we both really enjoyed. Well, we finally made it back to Vancouver and my first dinner reservation had to be Hy’s. And I have to say it was just as amazing as I remember. It’s got such great atmosphere, the food was terrific and our server, Blair, made it a very memorable experience. There were items we were trying to decide which, but he said to leave it in his hands and he’ll take care of us, and he really did. That’s what sets it apart, when the food and atmosphere are great, it’s having the best service. Hy’s delivers on all counts.

Atmosphere: There was an off putting smell upstairs and it was cold. We were in a corner with cold air blowing on us.
Server: server was fine.
Food: My guest’s meal was cold, my husband’s had gristle. The cheese toast? The man that delivered it was great however the bread itself was toasted bread and cheese.
Personally this did not deliver the experience of the price tag.

Wife and I and another couple had been looking forward to experiencing Vancouvers premiere steakhouse. We were celebrating a special occasion . Not so premier. The service was great as well as the atmosphere.
However the food was a major disappointment. Were to begin. Food was cold. My steak had a big piece of gristle. Mashed potatoes were a flavourless lump.
Thankfully I didn’t order the more expensive steak. I could have made a better meal at home with a steak from the local grocery store.for a fraction of the cost. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll pay for a great dining experience, but this was not it. Not recommended and won’t be back
