Recommend recommended by someone to try this authentic Taiwanese food. The food did not give me any surprises at all. They taste either sweet or salty. It it really lacks the taiwanese favor.

This is a truly authentic Taiwanese restaurant with great flavors and polite staff. I ordered some bold, flavorful dishes, and ended up finishing all the rice! Left with a full belly and a happy heart. I'll definitely come back to try other dishes next time!

The owner is the chef of the restaurant.
He makes awesome food with reasonable affordable price.
Better to make reservations before you visit.

One of the true and established Vancouver institution for authentic Taiwanese food.

What many have said is that owner Kalvin has trained many of the chefs who make Taiwanese food in the city, including Myst, Chef Hung and others.

The location is a bit of a hole in the wall but the prices are excellent with generous portions. Don't come here expecting high-end, service-oriented dining. You're there to eat and enjoy dishes that can't be found anywhere in this city, and in some cases, in Canada.

Their stinky tofu casserole is EXCELLENT, great with rice if you don't mind carbs. But even alone, this dish is so flavourful and hearty.

The sweet sour fish and tofu dish is also great, and a Taiwanese staple. Generous portion too.

The stir fry Taiwanese clams are rich in aroma and flavour, and fresh.

They lost stars primarily because of their inconsistency with delivery of the XLB. I've gone once where it was PERFECT - thin skin, TONS of meat juice inside and plump. Each bit was excellence. But another time I went, every single one of the XLB has exploded - meaning the meat juice was already evaporated or landed in the steam tray. It was really disappointing to see such a big contrast in quality.

The service is quite decent for how they are operating their restaurant. If you speak Mandarin or Cantonese, admittedly you get better, more warm service as it is obvious English is not the first language of the servers.

Overall, a place worth visiting again.

And oh, if you do truly eat spicy foods, totally go for the medium or high spice, the mild version is really, actually *mild*.

The food is awesome! Whenever I get homesick about Taiwanese cuisine I come here. Their service is beyond awesome. The staffs who work here are super friendly and the same as the boss. It's like going back home. Very cozy and chill

I like this Taiwanese restaurant very much. I think the beef rolls with flatbreads are the best because they are made with scallion pancakes and are more fragrant than ordinary ones! Haha, I will come again!
