Nakamura, run by a Kyoto-born family, is a quiet marvel, its food on par with any of Vancouver's finest Japanese restaurants. Its unassuming character is belied by the kindest and most attentive of service, and the most delicate and freshest flavours. Their offerings are both familiar and unexpected; their BBQ eel is as good as anywhere in the world, their sashimi expertly prepared. Truly a hidden gem.
This is the best sushi I ever tried in my life, not to sound dramatic but it really was. Do yourself a favor and try the negitoro maki, you're gonna thank me later, everything is amazing , the service is outstanding and the ambience is so cozy I felt for a moment I was in Japan, hidden gem in Kerrisdale 100% worth it!
Authentic Japanese cuisine cooked and served by this family from Kyoto.The menus are different at lunch and dinner. Highly recommend this - the best Japanese restaurant in Kerrisdale.
