The signage on the door says “Please wait to be seated.” We waited, as the hostess/server was nowhere to be found (this is not the issue in itself, we understand they’re busy). But as soon as she came out, she just stood staring at us, stapling receipts and only when another group entered the door, told them (still ignoring us) that there were “no tables.” It is what it is, but just say so as soon as you see us? Why glare at us? How are we supposed to know the restaurant...
Amazing food, I've only been there twice, but have such vivid memories of the place, the food, the service and the atmosphere. If you are in Vancouver, this is a really great place to experience!
Actually authentic Japanese. Chef and owner is this old super sweet Japanese couple. Service can be slow when it’s just the two of them, and prices are not “cheap” but expect quality, lots of care when it comes to the food and a quiet homely atmosphere. A hole in the wall so come and be prepared to chill. Finally a place that has actual tamago and not that rubbery neon stuff that most places serve.
