The bistro was freezing upon entering as no heat was on and door and windows were thrown over. W4th Avenue, a very high traffic noise level, was tough on hearing. When server was asked to close door and windows, she declined saying the sun was out. So uncomfortable was the meal. Eventually as more patrons entered, they were closed but put me off.

The menu is varied, the food was delicious and our server, Jordan, was terrific. Such a wonderful restaurant to enjoy a great meal with the ability to have good conversation with friends without having to shout. It was like having a great meal at home, with none of the work. We have been before and intend to keep going back. We loved the fixed price menu and the variety of selections. The onion soup, mango salad, duck confit and braised beef were all hits with our group of four. A super neighbourhood gem for those lucky to live nearby...an hour-long ride for us, but a ride worth taking!

The 3-course meal was great value with good enough selections. The restaurant setting wasn't too formal and the ambience was cozy.

Fantastic food and excellent service The scallop and prawn ceviche was so tasty and flavors so rich. The seafood linguini was served in abundance for a very well priced, Prix Fixe menu. Excellent value. The server was very attentive and gave me a good dining experience. Highly recommended. A Neighborhood Gem.

We have returned to Lavidas several times and find that both the cuisine and the service are consistently excellent. A wonderful gem in our neighbourhood!

I just love this restaurant. The food is absolutely the best fresh and beautifully served. The service and communication with the hostess/server is how it should be in all restaurants just excellent. The fixed price menu is unbelievable . Catherine Whelan

As others have stated, this restaurant is truly a hidden gem. I’ve been twice, once with 2 friends and more recently with a party of 8. The food was delicious and fresh tasting. The fixed menu at $35 for 3 courses is an excellent price for the quality and options you have to choose from. Everything was great, the service, the atmosphere and location is fantastic. The french onion soup was really a treat, as I have never been a fan before, but I cannot wait to go back for more !

Wheelchair accessibility: There was plenty of room inside the restaurant for my walker, no issues getting into the door and the washroom was definitely big enough for my walker and had handrails. Not to mention beautifully decorated and well maintained.

Dinner tonight at Lavidas was perfect. Small, quaint atmosphere with incredible service. Jordan, our server was kind, attentive and charismatic. All of our food came out hot and was delicious. Wednesday pre set menu with 1/2 price bottles of wine, can’t go wrong. I’ll definetly be returning.

Run, don’t walk to Lavidas. Despite the mysterious name, the food here is absolutely delightful. Mark my words - it’s the best 3 course meal value in the lower mainland. Where else can you get perfectly cooked duck confit with a heaping mound of healthy root vegetables, seafood - laden linguine overflowing with mussels and clams, or tender beef with yummilicious gravy? I haven’t even mentioned the cheese overloaded French onion soup, earl gray crème brûlée or vanilla apple crumble?!!

Only $35 pp!!! I am not kidding.

They also have a great selection of wine. Service is lovely. There are ample tables to have a lively conversation and catch up with friends. The lovely female chef worked at a prestigious long standing French restaurant before.

The problem WAS the expensive paid parking in front. The good news is we have found free parking. See photo with red circle. I attached a photo. You are welcome 😂

Give it a try and support local business!!!

I have no words to describe this tiny, cozy place. Frankly, from my experience dining out in Vancouver, this restaurant surpasses all the other places I’ve visited so far, based on multiple factors:

• food that’s second to none
• ambience
• service

This is my second time returning, and I hope to be back soon!

I enjoyed a delicious onion soup, duck confit paired with gratin and seasonal veggies, and, of course, to wrap up an amazing gastronomic adventure, the apple crumble with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

You won’t regret and please try it out!
This is an exceptional place!
